------- not a peep from the multiple ELT transmitters on board the aircraft. What happened to them? They can't be turned off by the pilots.------------------

Totally incorrect. ELT transmitters are NOT required on commercial A/C much less multiple units.

The argument was that airlines fly known routes and keep schedules therefore their position is always known.
Yeah, that is certainly not the case here.

As far as I am concerned the airline industry simply did not want to retrofit due to down time and cost. Called lobbying.
General aviation was obliged to install ELT's , again and again as specs changed.
I say again etc as they discovered that the Lithium batteries liked to blow up every now and then.
Old ELT.s xmitted on 121.5 & 253 mhz and later units xmit to a sat freq. that is coded with A/C ident and can pinpoint the crash site.

I've read that ELT's don't work underwater, anyway.

Yes old ones on 121.5 and the second harmonic 243.00 which is in the Military aircraft band the new ones are on 406Mhz, which the satellite network listens to. The talking heads said there were 4 ELT's on the aircraft. I have no way of knowing for sure. Of course they wouldn't work submerged, but they are usually located in the tail and upper surfaces of aircraft. Nothing survived its plunge into the drink? not even for a few minutes? Hit the water at 500mph?. perpendicular to the water? I dunno, maybe. Tell me again how reliable the information we have that it is in the southern Indian ocean again.? When today, they changed the wording of the sign off and who said it after 3 weeks.. It is like every thing that comes from the Malaysian authorities is a lie or they are totally incompetent? Like I said, we know NOTHING, about what happened to this aircraft.

I say, again, only one scenario fits every one of the known facts .....alien abduction to another planet....it vanished suddenly and completely and that's all we know:rolleyes:....just because there has never before been a proven abduction of such magnitude doesn't mean it didn't happen!!

Could this be another incident of the "Indian Ocean Triangle" .

I think so. Everyone knows that the IOT( Indian Ocean Triangle) runs from South Africa to Australia and up to Kyrgzstan. Anything entering the IOT disappears!

;)

Later,
Dan

There should have been a minute or two of transmission from the ELT on 125.5, 243 and 406. Unless somebody pulled the cables off from inside.
The Malaysian Authorities have removed all doubt and proved they are both liers and incompetent .

I am beginning to think if the Malaysian Authorities told me the sun comes up in the East, I would have to doubt it.
