new old farmer in the U.P. of Michigan

Bought a small farm in the Upper Peninsula of Mich. I finally get to start using my AC D-14, with plow and cultivator, that has been a member of my family longer than I have. (I think my Dad kind of favored the tractor more than me- the tractor worked harder). I am also expecting a Ford 851 with a brush mower, and back blade to be delivered soon. I'll get pictures when the snow levels go down.

You'll need a rock picker (in August) and a snow plow (the other 11 months) and that's about it in the U.P.

Keep us posted on your progress and show some pics of those old tractors put to work once the snow finally goes aways (which will probably be June).

Congrats on buying the farm though in all seriousness. I plan on someday purchasing a piece of dirt up their and having a small farm just need to convince the wife to move to a place where winters are colder and longer than what we already deal with.

I hear you 300. I'm still in the same area where my family immigrated to in Mi from Prussia back from the 1890's. I absolutely love it when I meet people and move into the area and say we have roots in the area because they vacationed here back in the 50's.

Pretty shallow roots if you ask me. :laughing:
