Guess I've been busy on this site, as I've got 100 posts already. But, I've found a lot of good info here, and a lot of nice folks.
We have 40+ acres up in NE Missouri, but are only part timers up there. Live down in the St Louis area on 3+ acres. It's pretty much hillside in St Louis, so I don't even have a lawn tractor there.. (All woods too.)
On the 44 up north, we've got 10 acres going into alfalfa this year, the rest is timber, with a small clearing for a metal building with living quarters in it.
I love it up there. Most of the neighbors are full time and farm a lot more ground than ours.
So far it looks like a good deer population (my son shot his first deer (doe) last fall.) hoping there are a few turkeys around this spring.
I'm a sales rep, that's nearing retirement. The rest of my family are lake people. Have lake homes, and enjoy living on the water. I like it too, but need a bit more to do, to stay busy.. They don't understand my interest in having a piece of property, and "working" up there all the time. I personally find it pretty therapeutic. Ha
Glad I found this site! I think I'll hang around a while.
My other hobby is motorcycle riding. Long distance riding to be more specific. I went up to Prudhoe Bay Alaska last summer. The summer before that it was up to Maine, across Canada, and around Lake Superior. I like the back roads/ mostly gravel that get you in the out of the way places.
