My goodness people. Buy guns already! Be like Missouri. Prepare, get fit and get ready.

I'm surprised that Texas could be defeated by zombies. They seem to be able to take care of themselves. :)

Maybe we could get a jump on the Zombie Apocalypse and start plinking "likelies"?
Connecticut should be rezoned green, as we are so densely populated that there's no room left for a zombie to stretch its arms out and stagger around, making it a static target and easy to garrote & behead with nanny safety wire.

It's comforting to know I have nothing to fear in Maine.

How did Maine fare so well? It ranked in the top ten for the following metrics:

veterans (1)*
survival skills (3)
knowledge of zombies (9)

North and South Carolina ranked in the top ten in only one metric: military personnel -- #4 for NC and #10 for SC.

I will take my chances with the Marines at Parris Island and Camp Lejeune.:)

* I don't know why, but I found this surprising.

I hate to tell you this, but considering Connecticut's gun laws, I'd be tempted to say that you've already lost to the Zombies running your state government.

Unfortunately, we have our share in New Hampshire.

Veterans tend to be older, Maine's population has the oldest average state age.
Maine is poor, many poor people see military service as a reasonable, honorable and workable life choice.

Lots of outdoor activity in Maine probably leads to more survival skills. It's well known that all the quitters and those that can't hack it move south.

Horror novelist Stephen King is a Mainer, lives up by Bangor. He taught us about many things scarier than zombies. You think a true Mainer is worried about a zombie that couldn't shuffle and stumble through a foot or two of snow? If the cold don't stop 'em, the bugs will drain 'em to empty husks. I'll take my chances here. We have more black flies than you'll ever have Marines, and they supply their own weapons--for free.
