I thought the rule was never discuss religion, politics or sex.I come here to talk tractors and rural living. When I was a kid, I was taught not to talk politics or religion with company and when I grew up, I learned why. And that was in the good old days when people were more restrained.
Well out of the 3 things I mentioned I'm moderately well versed and interested in two.I never discuss religion or politics. Firstly, they are not subjects that I am very well versed in and second I am not overly interested in either one.
I saw an advantage in the Friendly Politics forum as a place to not only learn of other views but also to find facts and links I would not normally see in my daily readings. It was refreshing to read other viewpoints until they started descending into vulgar personal attacks, often by a limited group of people. And frequently the threads, although started in ernest, would slant around to president bashing.
I came here to get knowledge and advice on equipment to manage my woodlots. I hit a lot of forums at the time but I would have to blame Eddie Walker's advice for addicting me to TBN.
Hopefully Muhammad will continue Friendly Politics.
