Its my annual fuel problem. This year I ran out of fuell , i think. My fuel gauge is broke after last year changing all fuel lines and putting a temporary in line fuel filter on. Anyhow, I ran tractor for a while this season and it idled off. I suspect it ran out of fuel. Filled fuel tank and wouldn't start. Cracked fuel line and filled filter. Wouldn't start. Pulled out my trusty operators manual and my filter is pictured calling it "primary filter". Thus, suggesting there might be a secondary filter. Maybe that's why Im having trouble with shutdowns the last 2 seasons. I don't think I have 2 fuel filters though. I look in my tractor service manual and I have no mention of fuel system at all. Manual is 300 pages or more and maybe I just couldn't find li. I don't see anything on engine in service manual. I am guessing I need another manual for engine?

Question. Is there only 1 fuel filter in 4110? If it's run out of fuel does injector pump need primed? Could running out of fuel injure pump or any thing else? What does one of those pumps cost? (ballpark figure) Can they be rebuilt?

P S Last fall I buffed the hood and fenders with buffer. An old faded , almost orange, Changed back to the old Mahindra red. Maybe I should have used the time to fix the fuel gauge???
But......It looks good!

Wishing all a happy healthy spring season........Coffeeman

For those that might reply, I'm up and running. I believe I did run out of fuel. I took in line filter off and replaced with the same kind jury rigged filter. The original Mahindra filter and housing had a defect in it and drew air giving an intermittent shut down problem. That's when I put inline filter on. Just to pass on the thought that fixing things is better if we use original parts to repair. Soon, if I learned anything after the millionth time, I will order the housing I need to give machine a better chance to run flawlessly. Also, way easier to change fuel filter.

I've had a little trouble with my fuel filter housing too, had to buy a replacement nut for it last year, a new bowl a few years ago. Next time I have a problem it's going to go and I'll install an inline disposable filter. That replacement nut was almost $17 alone. I've had my fuel tank out before and replaced the sending unit and there is no filter in the tank, and I know there's not another one on the tractor anywhere so I guess that's it.

Yes, there is a separate manual for the engine, I got Galen to get me one a few years back. It seems to have better info than the tractor manual has and covers a couple similar engines too.
