What should a new 500 gallon propane tank cost?

My plan is to buy a second 500 gallon tank to go along side my first 500 gallon tank and save on the price swings that are common in a grain farming area where propane is used in the fall to dry down crops. So how much should a new tank installed and hooked up on my prepped site cost?

I presume all these tanks are USA made?

Any price thinking on this and any advice helpful?

In the northeast a used one is around $1000.00. A new one installed underground is almost $3000.00.

Seems I seen an ad or something awhile back in a local paper that was advertising 500gal tanks for sale for $799, and 1000gal tanks for $1499.

Not sure if that includeds delivery and setting or not.

How do you plan on hooking them up? Are you going to be pulling from both tanks at the same time? OR when one empties, close it off and pull from the other?

Not sure how to hook them up yet. Guy coming over soon. He said it's $1500 installed on my spot and all hookup, etc included. I would think I would like to have it plumbed both ways so I can use individually or combo.

I second what was posed above. call Thrifty Propane or go on-line their price is 699 for 500 gallon tank, last year I had a quote for 1600 delivered installed and filled with all needed equipment installed & pressure checked. BAD thing is I had 200+ gallons in my tank at time so I waited, and forgot about it until it got cold and had to pay 3.79 to my rental tank people for 200 gallons in December... ??? :MAD: Lat few years that 200 gallons would have lasted till this summer (small cabin) but this extra cold year it went away FAST...

Craigslist...I bought a 2nd 500gal tank to due exactly what you have in mind. Got a decent tank with 35% full for $700.

I moved and set in place myself. Propane supplier hooked it into my lines for $64.

I'm pleased with the result.
