To update about the teacher's death, I searched several different ways for any mention of the negligemt boat trailer driver/owner having been ticketed or charged for his part in her death, but nothing was evident.

Also, when I was going to PA school in PA and commuting home every other weekend in my Olds Firenza, I had a near miss on a section of divided highway where the northbound lane was elevated about 25-30' above the South bound lane, and as I was driving, I saw a truck wheel and tire come bouncing down from the other lane towards me, but luckily my timing allowed it to miss me, through no thing I did, because with the cumulative speed vectors, it must have been approaching at something like 140 MPH, not counting the additional boost from it's vertical descent at 32 feet/sec/squared acceleration.

God was watching over this kid that day- and over everyone else too apparently, because apart from a few brake pads, and tires that got a little scrubbed off, nothing and no body was injured at all, which was a minor miracle, given late afternoon rush hour traffic in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton corridor.

Later tators!

I guess you guys heard on the news Fed Ex and UPS are being merged, they are going to call the company Fed Up.

That made me smile. However, living in a rural third world city, they are the only way we can shop. Best customer service are their drivers.

I agree completely. Our regular UPS driver stops his truck at the end of the driveway, opens the gate, and walks up to leave packages on the porch. USPS just puts a, "could not deliver," card in the mailbox for anything that won't fit. I don't begrudge USPS not wanting their drivers to have to get out of their vehicle, but I always choose UPS if I can for that reason.

Overall, I like UPS - BUT - If your item is fragile, they will prove it! Those guys drive those trucks like dune buggys. For fragile, my best luck is surprisingly with the USPS.
