How many HP/acre do you run? Why?

I agree the ratio isn't really meaningful by itself. Figure out what jobs you need to do routinely (or periodically) and how fast you need to get the work done and get enough tractor to handle those jobs. For extreme, one-off jobs, rent equipment or hire it done.

I agree that the machine is more important than a horsepower rating.

For our 80 acres I have a small one, 22hp, less than 4' wide.


A 61hp, 5' wide.


A 75hp, 6' wide



I have never had to rent anything or hire someone to do what needed to be done.

Very true. Ain't none of those things you drive what I would call a "tractor".

Yep, sold my "tractor" after I got my first Versahandler.


I can do so much more with the V417, don't think I will ever need a "tractor"
