MF 1260
I have a MF 1260 bought new in the 90's and recently bought a used woods 750 back hoe, that is mounted on a sub frame... the seller thought it was from a mihindra, but didn't know... I do know the frame doesn't match my tractor and from previously reading here using it on the 3 pt isn't the best way to go. I contacted woods and they don't sell a kit anymore. I would like to make or purchase the mounting hardware that fits to the tractor,( or at least know where the mounting pts are?) I will then modify the frame to fit. Any input, pics, or place to find more info would be appreciated. Thanx Chuck

Hi Chuck, I built a sub frame for my 3 pt hitch hoe out of 2x3 tubing to fit my 1440 Massey. On my 1440 I built 2 brackets out of 1/2" flat bar and mounted under the rear axle. I replaced the factory bolts with 1/2" longer ones. The bracket was like an upside down U and slid over the sub frame and was pinned. For the front of the sub frame I made brackets to pin into two eyes that are on the bottom of my loader frame 3/4" hole. I am not sure if your 1260 is the same as I can not remember if my 1250 had them.
Good Luck
Frank

Frank, thanks for the reply... is there any chance I could get a picture of what you made? on the front of the tractor the loader mounts are very forward, but I saw threaded holes in the tranny... 2 on each side... thinking this may be a mounting place although not sure what forces it will take? it looks like I could do the same on the back axle but would have to space down a little. I may make a trip to dealer and ask where they are to be mounted.. thanks

Here are a couple of pics, 2 of the front loader brackets and one of the rear U brackets that I built and mounted under the axle. If you would like a pic of the sub frame, I will have to move some stuff! :) I do not use it anymore. I picked up a gc2610 TLB and got rid of my 3pt backhoe for my 1440. Hope this helps. :)

thanks for the pics.. questions ??'s assume on the front the side to side play of the subframe is minimal and there is either a long rod or bolts on both sides to secure? on the back I assume ( a thing I hate to do) again, your subframe box beam goes into the brackets and you put a bolt or pin below it to secure? 3/4" ? enough? I don't believe I'll need a pic of the sub frame at this time... and I will need to reevaluate the FEL mounting again this weekend... Thanks Chuck

There was very little side play in the front, The sub frame has 2 flat bar tabs per loader bracket with 3/4" hole through them.(similar to rear brackets only smaller ) I used 3/4" draw bolts and clips to attach it. On the back, the sub frame slid up inside the brackets under the axle with about 3/8" clearance on the sides.(3/16 per side of bracket) I used 7/8" draw pins in the back.
When all 4 pins were in, it did not move very much.

thanks this should give me a direction to head... 1 thing I noticed on my hoe was it appears to have the safe tee link attached also, which I thought was for the 3 pt mounting.... but the hoe is pinned to the subframe similar to the lower part of a 3 pt hitch? which would make it pivot here without the upper link in place.. I'm going to check and see if I can alter the subframe and bolt it securely, like I noticed in 1 of the woods manuals for a different model....
