This tractor with 600 hours is being sold for $4,500 with no attachments. I wondering what the cost would be to add a loader. It is already plumbed for one.

Thanks for the response. The loader sounds like it might be an odd ball size.

No, it really isn't an oddball size. Most all loaders are model or model range specific. The BF series loaders happen to be the best loaders Kubota built in my opinion. These were actually Kubota loaders built in Japan, not American sourced like all of the rest of their loaders. An LA400 or 450 loader should work too with the right mounts.

It looks very nice - like it's had an easy life. The loader thing is always tricky on older tractors. A new one might cost as much as the tractor. Used ones are few and far between but they do show up once in a while. It's often more economical to find a machine that already has the major features you are after - loader, cab, tire type, backhoe. The L2550 is one of those bulletproof early Kubotas that with reasonable care seem to run perfectly forever. Good luck deciding what to do.

With all the L series that you own, I would say that you know what you are talkin about.

I had looked at a loader-less L4230, a bigger tractor, and priced a Kubota loader, complete, at under $4000 for it. I'd guess you could get an aftermarket loader, minus the controls, for maybe $2500 or a bit more. That would make for a nice tractor for under $7500- what's not to like?

That tractor looks like an 1986 , had one.
If you could talk him down to say, 3,500 or 3000,,you'd be ahead of the game.
