Hey gang I got my new Kubota bx2370 last week and want to get a Reese hitch attachment for my 3PH. Plan on using it to haul a cargo carrier, pull my dump cart, move a trailer, and for a few other things I plan on making. I like the quality and reviews of OMNI hitches and have narrowed it down between two different ones that they sell. The first is a one piece all inclusive heavy duty unit with lower hitch receiver, goose neck hitch, mounting points for a clevis/hook etc. It cost 170 dollars. The second one is basically the same thing but instead of being a single unit it bolts to a standard draw bar after which you have goose neck and lower receivers and places for clevis/hooks etc as well on the draw bar. It cost 75 dollars. In my mind the draw bar option is probably the way to go because its cheaper and the draw bar gives some versatility with or without the hitch bolted to it. can you guys help me decide which way I should go? here is pic of both.

I usually go with the cheaper option if they both will work. One thing I would consider is how long does it take to change each of them. If it takes a lot longer for the cheaper one I would probably go with the more expensive one. How big of gooseneck trailer are you planning on pulling with this? Are they both rated for the same load?

I actually would use the goose neck options to haul one of those cargo carries that are used behind a car once I modify the mount to be vertical instead of horizontal. that would allow me to still use the rear hitch for my cart or an implement. For this reason the load isn't as important for me. Their website doesn't go into load ratings just the that thickness of metal for fab is the same. it would stay mounted to the draw bar full time probably unless i needed the drawbar for a specific job at which point I would already own one. Any negative aspects to a drawbar use?

I went with the Omni Transformer because I needed the strength for moving gooseneck trailers. The horse trailer is over 3,000 pounds on the ball, the deckover is 1150.

I got the Carry All from them also.

I would get the one that is quick hitch compatible. I can't tell by the pics if they both are or not. It may not seam important to you now, but in a few years it may begin to look more and more like a good idea to you. That's how I got mine.

Hi Chucky,

I for one totally agree with BigT, make sure that it is compatible for any implements you have or may have in the future- especially with your QH of choice.

That being said, they both could be made compatible- the "Omni Hitch" is available in an IMatch-compatible version, which should match ANY other QH, if it's true to the Cat 1 specs.

...And for the "Omni Drawbar hitch", just make sure that you order a drawbar that is 26" from pin to pin, and ask them at Omni Mfg if their toplink height [from the top of the drawbar/bottom of their product to the top link holes] meets Cat 1 specs.

Just from looking at them numerous times, I think that they are prolly pretty close, if not right on the money, but that's subject to my cockeyed visual defects and obvious neurological impairments... ;-)

Good luck!

BTW, the reason I'm not looking at the Omni products is that I made very sure that my ballast box and box blade have trailer hitch boxes on them and one of them is ALWAYS on the 3-pt as ballast.

That's something you might want to think about, if you have a loader and plan to use it AT ALL.

Would be best to forget putting a goose neck trailer on a BX. You well get hurt.

Actually I never planned on using the gooseneck hitch for a gooseneck trailer I wanted it more that that carry all that xfaxman posted. I liked the idea of having the carrier on the tractor and still being able to pull my trailer or other implement at the same time with the other hitch. Im really not well versed in the quick hitches, what they do, or why they are important. I may have to read up on that. As for the loader.....I am getting it next year at tax time (to many big purchases at once for this ol country boys wallet so i have to space it out), I have a rear blade I was going to use as ballast and I planned on buying an attachment Omni sells to hang suitcase weights or a weight bar (for use with everyday Olympic weights) as ballast in the future. Beyond that i plan on getting a tiller, small bushog, post hole digger and maybe a couple plows as the extent of my tractor attachment arsenal. (pulling a trailer/cart, and using it for other pulling dutties as well obviously which is why the drawbar is attractive)

Forgot to add that the drawbar i have came from TSC and its 26" long with standard cat 1 pins. I can return it and use the funds towards the complete hitch from OMNI, I just figured having a drawbar added some versatility to the stable but I'm not sold on this method if you all suggest otherwise.

I use cat 1 on my BX, 26" is what it is. I think the top link might be 14" heigth and my other tractors are 16".
