My friend was an ornery old guy and got into it with the building inspector on a home he was building for himself... it really did get out of hand... he built it exactly to the extensively reviewed plans and when it came time to final he was told he couldn't have a second kitchen... which was clearly in the plans since day one.
They told him no C/O unless the dwonstairs family room kitchen was removed... he told them to pound sand, moved in and has lived there ever since.
He was also told he was taking a big risk and could never get a loan of insurance... didn't need a loan because he built it with cash and had zero problem getting a home owner policy.
He did file complaints all the way to the State Attorney General's office and about a year later his C/O arrived in the mail...

It's too bad they are giving you trouble. It will work out and after a little time it won't seem as bad, at least that's how it was for us as we built. The inspectors/approving individuals seem to be out of control, I'm all for things being safe but I swear these people were picked on in high school and are now trying to get back at everyone they can.

The internet has been installed. Had to go with satellite and went with Exede. Using their Evolution plan which is $64.99 for unlimited web browsing and email, and 5GB for data. Free data from 3am until 8am so any YouTube videos I want to watch will have to be done in the morning.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying your new country home. The sheep shearing reminds me of the stories I heard growing up about my great grandfather {who's name was Lamb}. He always cut his hair and trimmed his beard in May when he sheared the sheep. I carry on this family tradition to a lesser extent. I always shave my winter beard on the first day of spring.

Download is 12 Mbps, upload is 3Mbps. So far, I haven't found it to be much slower than our former cable internet. Keeping my fingers crossed.
