Picked about 10 gallons of snap beans and 5 gallons of squash, my back is killing me now. (bucket on the left is a 7g)

Dennis, that is a good looking haul. You are a few weeks ahead of me but I did get two squash yesterday. The beans are putting out runners and starting to bloom, so it won't be long.

David, with the size garden you have, you will far surpass my little endeavor!

What garden , it was 45 here this morning and could go below freezing tomorrow morning . I have potatoes in, spinach which is up , onions are growing , and that's it , waiting for the ground to warm up , if it ever does to plant the rest . You guys in the south have it made .

And to think that in less than a month the days start getting shorter. The are a lot of states like you, waiting to warm up. Don't worry, it will. I think.

Black plastic does wonders to warm the ground up. Up here a soil thermometer is also a good investment.
You would have been safe to plant peas several weeks ago. Cole products can go in any time now as they are resistant to frost. I am a little concerned though, about how a frost will affect my strawberry blossoms... if it gets very cold I'll be out watering my sweet potatoes to keep them from freezing.

Memorial Weekend; always the last Monday of May; was at it's earliest point this year. Not so long ago that was the starting point when anybody would dare putting most plants out. A frost as late as June 6 wasn't that unusual...
As long as you plant by July 4, most crops will do fine.
(That's when I put in my winter potatoes and carrots anyways... they keep longer into the winter and the Colorado beetles aren't a problem.)

We have been eating squash and green beans, almost a few peppers, and beginning to get silks on corn.

Good healthy look to the tomatoes. It is always a task to keep the water right in the containers. Most plants are putting on good fruit, with only a slight BER problem so far.

I worked on cutting and putting ends on soaker hoses today. I have several old hoses that needed some attention before I could lay them out. I also installed a sprinkler. I cut the faucet off and turned it to the side with a 'T'. Then put a valve and the sprinkler head above that. Finally got around to suckering the tomatoes. Better late than never.

I got a row of the bell peppers transplanted today. Then we had a nice rain. I took pictures, but left my camera at home. I have a tough weekend, {late nights and early mornings from now through Sunday} so it will be Monday before I get back in the garden. There are a few Jalapenos that will be ready by then.
