Back story?(hay it is me you know the email has to be wordy)

Wife is brush hogging about a month ago. In an area of our property we are trying to take back from nature. In some about calf high grass she hits a nest. At least 2 eggs are destroyed by the mower, 4 survive. She then runs to the store buys a $100+ incubator and now here about 3 weeks later I have this.

What the heck is it?Pheasant, Turkey?????

Wife took the day off work and is planning on taking the eggs and baby whatever to the nature center at Swope Park at 9am when they open up. My son is home trying to find bugs for it to eat before he goes to work.

I'm betting it's a Thunderbird. In a few weeks it will be carrying off your livestock! ;)

I think that is a turkey considering the size of the chick. Give it water and some run outdoors and it'll grow up fast. Don't keep it in a dirty small pen they get the "runs" and die.

No I am not going to keep them at all I hope....I really hope the nature center will take them. If they don't I have a feeling I will be building a pen this weekend.....and I just took down a 100' x 50' dog pen a few weeks ago....that would have been perfect. We do have a coyote problem however....I bet they are going to be very interested in them.

If that nature center does not take them this is going to be real work.

Some of the very best pets are the ones you never planned on having.
