Yet another query about my F14, feel like im hogging the forum a bit, but I am on a steep learning curve! There is a grease fitting on top of either end of the front axle, direct above where the steering swivels. How often should these be greased, and how do I know when I've pumped enough grease in?

Pump until it begins to squeeze out somewhere. Grease as needed.

There is also probably a grease fitting(s) where the axle housing itself attaches to the frame and pivots.

I had a look for that after I read about it in a thread in herer. No sign of any fittings, although there is grease on that joint, not sure how you get it in there.

Note reference #11 on this F24D parts drawing. I would guess your F14D would be similiar.

Thanks Winston. My axle is different to that one. The pivot is much smaller than that one, and higher up on the axle casing. It isn't concentric with the prop. shaft.

Ok, probably looks something like this and is lubricated with the differential fluid. No grease required. Yanmar Tractor Parts: 4WD INTERNAL

Yep very similar, probably the same, as that. No greasing required then.
