Tiller gray market rottotiller

Morning Guys

bought a gray market rottotiller to run on my JD 2320 yesterday and have a question about the PTO driveline. It is a fixed length shaft with a coupler and U joint on each end. The length is good but difficulty factor of installing is extreme.[2hr of fighting with it so far}also it doesn't seem to alow much up down movement without side strain on tractor pto any insight would be appericiated.

I bought a used Yanmar RS1200 rototiller (48" wide) and adapted it to my Kubota B7510HST about 10 years ago when I was putting in landscaping at my new house. I junked the pto drive line that came with the tiller and replaced it with a new drive line and added slip clutch since there was no shear pin on the tiller.



To make room for the new parts, I swapped the standard 26" long lower arms on the Kubota 3 point hitch with 35" long arms that I borrowed from my 1965 MF135 diesel. This lashup worked fine.

thanx much Flusher have a dead MF2135 out back and with the added length maybe even a drive line and clutch. would have taken me awhile to get there with out you pics

Glad the info was of help.

Forgot to mention that I had to use a short (6-8") pto shaft extender on the rototiller end of the drive line to keep the slip clutch from rubbing on the rototiller topside sheet metal. You can see it in the first photo between the slip clutch and the tiller. These jobs never turn out to be easy and straightforward. Parts never seem to fit together easily so you're always improvising. Such is the life of a farmer

I'm pretty impressed Flusher. I've been thinking of getting a roto for several years but have rocks and a few roots under my field. Afraid it might tear up the tiller.
How well does yours work?

I had a two grey market tillers that I wound up converting the shaft to a flange type to take KingKutter blades. The single bolt blades on the grey market tillers just spit out the blade whenever they seen a rock or root. The chain drives seem to hold up okay after the rebuild. I also totally cut off the draft arm 3pt lugs and put on a totally new setup made out of 1/2" plate. When I got done I could use behind a smaller Utility tractor in just about all soils. It was a lot of work/money. bjr

I guess so--that Yanmar is a used tiller from a rice field in Japan. It's 48" wide and covers the track of that Kubota B7510HST, so it's the right size in that regard.

It worked OK for my landscaping job and for tilling the vegetable garden. It's not a particularly heavy duty tiller however.
