Buying Advice Looking at used 4300... what should I be looking for?

/ Looking at used 4300... what should I be looking for? #11
When I called to look at the 4300 someone had just put a deposit down on it, so missed out on that one. Going to look at a 4500 later today though so will keep this all in mind.

Yeah, they go fast...

Still here folks! I truly do appreciate all the replies, thank you, sorry for not chiming in more often. I also found this similar thread which I'll repost the link to in case anyone else is searching for the same thing later on: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/john-deere-buying-pricing/296941-jd-4410-w-loader-what.html

I owned a 4500 for quite a while from new. They are a lot more tractor than the 4300. Especially when they have the Pow'r Reverser trans. I have always regretted selling mine.

Well I am the proud new owner of a 2001 JD 4500... 460 loader, power reverser trans, ag tires, pretty great condition. It was a single owner, homeowner machine from NY and has a mere 172 hours on the clock. Came with a 5' brush hog and I just bought some 3pt forks. It's a little bigger than I need but enjoying it so far.

Congrats!! They are a fine machine.
However, if that's it in the pic, those are R4's, not the R1 ag tires.

Mine was also a 2001, but I bought it new in the fall of 2002. Like I said, I miss it and wish I had never sold it.
