This is the post hole digger I picked up for $200 the other day. Not quite the deal I got on the Woods tiller but I think I did ok. I can't tell who made it though. The lady I bought it from said it came from the New Holland dealer in a package deal of attachments when she bought her tractor. I can't quite make out the painted over decal and I'm not familiar enough with them to even guess.

Also, on the top of the 10" auger there is either a split or a factory slot where the top bolt goes through. Is it there to ease the assembly, or is it splitting and needing to be welded? Does the gear box on these use standard 80/90 wt. oil? She stored it laying down under a lean to type shed. There are no signs of leaks, but I thought I should change the oil before using it. Are most augers interchangeable from brand to brand?

Thanks up front for any replies or thoughts.

Oops, forgot the pics, here they are

Can you post Some pics of it. There are different types of augers. Some fit on a 2" round, some fit on 6 sided spline. Others may be a different size. Sometimes if you use a Lille laquer thinner on a rag you can get the paint off the label. As far as oil, Some use hyd. oil, others use 90 wt.

I can read KUBO?H but never heard of a brand close to that. At first I thought it said Kubota.

Me too, I was hoping somebody would recognize the logo. Might try the paint thinner idea and see if I can see another color.

I don't know whom the manufacturer might be, but as to the auger top question - yes it's beginning to split and you should look at tacking it back together before you use it much. Enjoy your new attachment. Greg

The 3pt frame and arm look like the King Kutter at the local farm supply store...
The gear box looks the same as my older model Speeco...

I took out the filler plug on my gear box, turned it over with the fill hole down, and let it drain 2-3 days...
Refilled with 80-90 gear lube...

Yes... It appears to be a common 2" diameter shank on the out put of the gear box... Like said, I would take it apart, clean it up, bolt it back together with anti-seize compound, and weld up the crack... The augers are a consumable part.... (they ware out and need replaced)

Disconnect the pto shaft from the gear box... Clean it all up well, lube the connection with anti-seize compound, and replace the shear bolt... Grease the U joints... Make sure the pto safety cover works as it should...

Mine came with a 9" and 12" auger... And has worked very well...
Of course..... In the clean up process.... Mine turned green and yellow.....

Good luck...

I'm going to do as you suggest and drain it and re-fill before using. The lady I bought it from gave me an extra set of "bits" (tips?) that bolt on the end of the auger, but no name so far. Thanks for the advice on welding the split, it really looked almost factory, but the more I look, it's splitting. I've got some "honeydews" of my own to finish before I get to welding it up though.

The Danuser favor it quite a bit but there are some differences. Could be model year changes.

Thanks for all replies.

The book that came w my auger said to run it at idle speed. Just a little input that may help.
