I am doing a rebuild on my remote quick disconnect and have run into a booger of a challenge on removing the interior snap ring that holds the receptacle body in the main housing. The snap ring does not have any tips with holes that a normal snap ring plier nibs can hook into. The ends of the snap ring is just a sharp point. The receptacle body has a slight 'overhang' at the outside end and the snap ring groove is located relatively deep within the housing...it is very difficult to reach the ends and pry them out of the groove so I can get the rest of the ring to come out. I don't feel comfortable putting a torch to the opposite end of the snap ring away from the tips due to the fact that, after all, this is a hydraulic fluid coupling...and, trust me, my experience has shown me time after time....if anything can go wrong, it will. I am hoping that one of you guys can tell me how to get this snap ring out. Thanking you in advance.
