Thank you all for taking the time to help. I'm retired Navy deep sea saturation diver. So numbers, stats, measurements, hard measurable stats, really mean something.

Kubota $28,274
Lift cap at bucket pivot max height 1131
Breakout force at pivot pins 1874 (500mm forward)
Warranty really gets me 2 year & 3 year
SSQD loader bucket $600 approx.
Loader max lift height 94"
Backhoe digging force bucket not provided
Digging force dipper not provided

Mahindra $27,275
Lift cap at bucket pivot max height 1650
Breakout force at pivot pins 2650
Warranty really gets me 5 year!!!!! no deductible
SSQD loader bucket already included
Loader max lift height 99"
Backhoe digging force bucket 2900#
Digging force dipper 1800#

What else is important to compare?? Does this mean Mahindra wins??

If you are comparing these two models on stats... Yes Mahindra wins... What other factors are important to you? Dealer, Color:D? Name?

James, Mahindra dealer is in Eugene, OR. Approx 3 hours away, 150 miles.
Kubota is 1 hour, 43 miles.

Color doesn't matter, Dealer or Name doesn't matter. I want reliability, quality and performance.

Well, Mahindra owners will tell you that Mahindra's are high quality, and performance. I have never owned or operated one. I have owned 2 Kubota's. I guess I would ask how important is the $1000 bucks? How important is the extra 500 lbs on the front end loader? That is quite a lot of difference, how important is all the other superior specs in the Mahindra's favor? Maybe start a new thread in the Mahindra forum asking for opinions on how they like their Mahindra's. I have owned Long, New Holland, Kubota's and Now my Kioti.

Any hoops to go through bringing the Mahindra into Washington as Oregon has no Sales Tax?

The lift ratings are significant and worth considering... unfortunately, neither will lift a pallet of block or concrete sacks which would really be useful to me.

The Mahindra backhoe stabilizers also provide a wider footprint which I think is worth pointing out.

Have you had a chance to sit in the seat and check out the ergonomics for yourself?

My friend owns a construction company and it's too bad we can't do what he does... when he was looking to upgrade backhoes... he had Case, Deere and Cat bring out demos so his guys could get some seat time...

Not to bash, but I looked at the Mahindras and thought the fit/finish, ergonomics and overall quality were awful. Went Kubota and no regrets. My 2 cents for what they are worth.

The 3616 is a Mitsubishi sold by Mahindra. Not all Mahindras come from the same plants or countries. Would be hard to say that every Mahindra model is inferior to every Kubota in fit, finish, ergonomics, and quality wouldn't it?

Have you actually looked at both tractors and driven them? If not, you really need to. That will likely make the decision for you, in combination with the dealership.

Tractor comparisons on paper are fine, but do not base a purchasing decision on that alone. You'd be missing some of the most important considerations and factors to tractor ownership and operation.

I wouldn't play checkers with the paper specs any longer. Go drive the tractors and see for yourself.

For the most part, that's true. What I have noticed, however, is that Kubota's loaders and backhoes are much better integrated with the tractors than the same items on Mahindras (and some other second-tier manufacturers), which tend to look a bit generic. Kubota's loaders and backhoes are built in the US, separate from the tractors, but you can tell that the design and integration was done very carefully to match the tractors. I can't say the same about some of the other brands, especially ones that are mixing and matching units from various manufacturers. My neighbor has a Mitsubishi-made Mahindra, and while it's a fine tractor, the loader looks like it could be something from the feed store!

Yep, good advice. Example, I was pretty set on getting a Yanmar a few years ago and I sat on one, and hated it. Nothing fit me. Then went over and sat on a Kubota (same dealer) and liked the way it sat. But I really love my Kioti!:)
