Well like I don't have enough projects to work on, I've been thinking about changing out my seat for a Grand L type seat with arm rests. Of course after seeing the $1000+ price tag Im looking at other options. Anybody changed out their seat whether old or new to a better fitted seat? Or at least know where I can buy a seat similar to the Grand L? Thanks

Check and see if the F model seat is the same price. It has arms, spring loaded with person weight adjustment, back reclines and lower back adjustment. Probably the same seat but maybe not.

I purchased a seat from Northern Tool, Michigan Seat High Back Suspension Seat Model V-5300 @ $329. Even though the seat fit the operator station perfectly, the bolt pattern on the new seat was larger. I had a flat adapter bracket fabricated out of 3/16 flat bar with both the old smaller bolt pattern and the new larger pattern. Bolted adapter to frame, new seat to adapter and done. I had to fiddle around with the seat safety sensor but even that was really no trouble. Just use flat bar wide enough to accommodate both patterns, weld, paint and bolt right on. I used a local fabricator and the adapter bracket was reasonably inexpensive.

My review of the seat: It certainly isn't a lazy boy recliner but it is much better than the stock seat that came with my L3700SU. Of course, sitting on a concrete slab would be a slight improvement over the OEM "cheap seats" but I notice the improvement every time I use the machine.

This might help. He posted it last year. If he still has it you might be able to haggle on a better price. I sold my Grand L seat with 20 hours on it for $300.

Grand L seat is pure garbage that you DON'T want. Move on and find a better solution, a milk crate is more comfortable.

Obviously you haven't sat on the std L seat. When I drive my dads grand L, the seat its a definite improvement over mine.

Good info, I'll definitely check it out. I upgraded the seat on my new bad boy mower to a Grammer suspension seat and it's super comfy. Now I want the same for my Kubota. I'm gonna check the mounts on my bad boy seat and see how well it will fit on my Kubota. Thanks

I guess it's a matter of opinion, the OEM on my L5030HSTC and L5740HSTC was fairly comfortable, my old bones just needed air ride, so I replaced it with a Grammar with the help of 4shorts.

And I'll probably do the same unless I come across a grand L seat dirt cheap. I love my grammer seat and it would sure make my seat time comfy.

I sure love mine, I grew up spending daylight till dark and past on an old steel seat, but I need all the comfort I can get now.
