Tractor I am working on, and own is a 2004 4210 MFWD, with the Sync-Shift.
I am aware that the housing need to be pulled to replace the axle seal, and that its a MAJOR pain in the butt to do.
Got quoted 450 dollars in labor to have it fixed, not including parts, or if anything doesnt go silky smooth. Im strapped for a lot of time, but If a day of my personal time saves me ~$500 bucks, its totally worth the effort.
Id like to complete this task on my own, but would like to make sure I have all the parts to do so, gaskets, seals, etc.
I dont have a repair manual for the tractor, but am willing to buy one since it would be nice to have. I want a newer tractor with a cab, but I would like to keep the tractor a while yet, since money doesnt exactly grow on trees lol
I read a few threads, and it seems that DKRUG? is the guru on these, so hopefully he can chime in and give me some tips.
I am going to start soaking the brake levers now with some Kroil so they come off easier, hopefully. If they still give me a hard time, I think a little heat may do the trick.
Thanks for any help!
