I have a 2006 Massey 1528 with a front end loader. The bucket is starting to uncurl when the machine is on and at rest and I believe the loader valve is going. It is a Nimco valve. The problem I am having is that there are two hoses coming from the hydraulic pump to the loader valve, and one return line to the rear reservoir. I know one line coming in is the inlet line, but why the second line? Is it a power take off line? Most replacement valves I am finding only have one inlet port, not two like this Nimco. Dealer wants $1150 for the valve, I cannot spend this kind of money and need an alternative. Thanks

I have a larger MF 2660 bought brand new in April 2011. The Nimco loader valve delivered with my DL250 loader would not let you force the tip of the bucket downward. The poor unsuspecting dealer tried several times to "adjust away" the problem, then replaced that $1100 valve. No change whatsoever. Same thing. Agco depot maintenance people totally failed both the dealers and the customers. Eventually (I'm talking a year) I got fed up and went directly to Nimco. They were quite aware of the problem, explained it, sent me the replacement parts (which were very simple to install) and I fixed it myself. So there were bad control valves BOTH on new tractors AND in the supply system. If I were in your shoes I would do the following: 1) Insist that your dealer contact Nimco directly and bypass the brain-dead AGCO system. 2) If they won't , then do it yourself. I'm not saying your problem is the same as mine. I am saying the communication path between customers to dealers to AGCO parts and notifications systems to suppliers like NIMCO are totally broken. Almost useless. Also saying that NIMCO will very likely help you solve the problem.
I can go into explanation of the 4th hose, etc. but let's get your problem fixed first. NIMCO is easy to find on the web. If you have trouble locating NIMCO send me a private msg and I will give you name and phone number.

About the lines: Are you saying you have 7 lines connected to your loader valve ? Normally there are two lines to the loader valve -- one from the source (on larger tractors the "power beyond" hydraulic source at the back of the tractor) and the return to the reservoir. The other 4 lines are pretty universally going to the loader frame for a) the up/down frame function = 2 lines and b) the bucket curl function = 2 more lines. That's 6 lines total connected to the loader valve. My loader valve is fed from the "power beyond" at the rear of the tractor, not direct from the pump. I'm not first-hand familiar with the 1522/1529 loader valve connectivity. What I recommend is (again talk to your dealer) and ask for access to the on-line Agco parts system so you can look up your parts. My dealer gave me a password, etc. to do that. Worst case, buy a set of maintenance and parts manuals if you are keeping the machine a long time. In the parts system with some hunting you will find a diagram of the hydraulics on your tractor and what goes to what. Also, you can get the numbers off your loader valve, go to the Nimco website and look up the diagrams for it. The ports are labeled and can be matched up to your unit and figure out that way what all your hoses are for. Good luck with it.

I have a 2012 1529 that started acting funny this spring. When you try to dump the bucket it will actually curl back up in the secondary detent (fast mode). If you go back to the first detent(slow mode) it will return to dumping. But takes half a dozen times before it will work in the fast spot.

Oh, and it's only got about 30hrs on it..

You should of course work with NIMCO either via your dealer or direct. I suspect from what you describe it is not exactly a bad valve but one slightly mismanufactured. As the Nimco guy describes it, the tolerances on the spool that moves in/out of the valve body were critical enough that -- even though they were within specs -- the addition of allowed tolerance all the way from one end to the other meant the last one was too far out of place. In my case the "regen spool detent assembly" (a little housing maybe 1 1/4 " long that is held on the end of the control valve housing with a couple of Allen head screws) just had to be replaced with one that corrected for the stack off additive tolerances. Whether yours can be fixed that easily or not, of course I can't say but I think Nimco can help and walk you through diagnosis at very least. The things are made in Finland or Norway and the Nimco support people are in Wisconsin.

Do you have the contact info for them?

• Ed Mitchell in Nimco. E.mitchell@nimcous.com 262-884-0950 physically located in Wisconsin.

Also the website for details on the CV-152 type valve is http://www.nimco-controls.se/virtupload/content/93/CV152.pdf which is probably not the same model as yours but lets you see the level of info on the Nimco products on the web. I can't seem to pull up other models very well. Ed or someone at his number should be willing to give you a full website name (URL) so you can look up yours. You should gather the numbers off of your valve nameplate in order to help him look up the circumstance on that particular valve. They'll tell you if they are aware of problems in the field with your type of valve. My caution is don't run right out and buy an $1100 valve because my dealer did that and both the new one and the original were "bad" (in need of the modification part from Nimco.)
