Yep, I did buy a cheaper winch mount and winch. Paid $54 for winch mount compared to $300 at Honda. Viper winch was hundreds less too. But the other items in the wiring package require Honda accessories in order for them to be plug and play - unless you read enough boards and find how to rig 'em. :D Google is our friend. :)

I'm too old to be patient. ;)

Since they priced the Pioneer at a very competitive price point, perhaps they're trying to make all their money on them from the accessories they sell? It may explain why the accessories are so much more expensive relative to the initial cost of the machine? :confused3:

Thanks for noting our VIPER winch on the forum thread. We sell about 7000 annually and have been at it nearly 10 years now. Going directly to you saves us 30% over going through distributors, so our costs can be lower without sacrificing quality. So we appreciate the support as we keep focusing on making good products. Have a great week!

I love my Honda 700-4 Pioneer, it is a great hunting machine for sure covering our 2,400 acres.

The Strong Made lift kit was an easy install and raised it up 2.75 inches all around, also the Walker Evan shocks are first class and turn it into a Porche in the handling department.

A FLIR M-324XP pan/tilt remote control thermal camera and a 24 watt 850nm Infrared IR LED spotlight also go a long ways towards taming the night!

Mine ain't so fancy. I just picked the Pioneer up this past Saturday. The Ranger sold pretty quick on Craigslist. I had paid cash for it last year and was able to roll that cash back into the Pioneer. The stars lined up I guess, I was on a waiting list for a Pioneer and one came in plus my Ranger sold for what I wanted for it within a few days. I was able to pay cash for the Pioneer with the cash I got out of the Ranger.

Our UTV experience has been a three little bears story. Too small, too big, and HOPEFULLY the Pioneer 700-4 will be "just right"

I had a 2007 620i JD Gator. I really like that machine, my wife really liked that machine, but our family grew and 3 wasn't safe or comfortable.

So, we went large! Was looking at a 4 seat trans Mule and after driving a few ended up going with a 2013 Polaris Ranger Crew 800 instead. Had a steel cab put on it. Well, after using it a year realized it was too **** big. My wife did use the Gator daily, now she never drove the Ranger. She had trouble seeing behind it to back up, didn't like the shifter or really much of anything about it after she had used it for awhile.
Also, I rolled the Ranger on it's side in a very remote area. It was top heavy.

So, hopefully this Pioneer will be "just right". I had the dealer put on the Honda roof and front panel with glass, not poly. I haven't added anything yet, I kept my side mirrors off my Ranger to put on the Pioneer as well as a Big Sky 2 gun overhead rack I had. KFI mount and Viper winch on the way hopefully will get all that mounted this weekend.

FWIW, my bride did the test driving on the Pioneer and loved the controls, it fit her, liked driving it. So maybe we are on to something.

Is that a Sig556 with a Levang linear comp?

I set up an AR with that comp for my son to use. Worked out well sending the concussion out the front and not back at him.
