Hydraulic pump - Capacity??

The load will determine the pressure developed.

Total pressure will be regulated by the relief valve which is designed to protect the pump.

The adjustable relief valve is set close to the pumps max pressure potential.

Install a hyd gage and check the pressure by maxing out the cyl. Full extend or retract.

If you can't get the stated pressure then you have some worn parts, be it the pump or cyl piston seals leaking, or relief valve.

When not in use the fluid just circulates and is not pressured. When in use the pressure would run at whatever is required by the on hand task. Could be any range up to 2062psi.

What is "not in use"? When running, the pump should pump at rated psi.

No, not true.

Yes, the pump is pumping, but not under pressure in an open center hyd system.

In a Closed center hyd system, and all valves are in parallel.

You might have some standby pressure ready for use at each valves IN port.

The pump only pumps at rated psi when you have max load.

I bought one of the higher cap pumps from Hoye couple of years ago. The pump made a night and day difference how the loader moved on my YM3000, price was right as well. I would recommend this pump to anyone with a loader on a Yanmar. If you are just running arms on a 3 point think the standard pump would be fine, larger pump sure makes a difference with a loader.

No, all I am saying is the hydraulic system on these old Yanmars do not have high pressure on them until the system is being used. The fluid is just in constant circulation. Lot's of scenarios here. For instance, if a tractor (Yanmar) is not running but has a loader bucket full and raised then yes there is pressure on the line from the loader cylinder to the control valve but not on the discharge line of the pump.

Usage determines line pressure.

So if I loosen an output line on my yanmar, with no hydraulics in use and start the tractor, the fluid wll not squirt out under pressure, but will only trickle out.

Probably come out less than 20lbs. In fact, not today, but sometime in the near future I am going to put a gage on mine to better and more accurately answer that question. I will do it with a load and without a load, that is if I can fine a place to put a gage and I likely will.

Back again. I did find a place to tee in and necessary fittings plus my glycerin filled gage. Might do this tomorrow.

Nice to be at the stage in life you can just do whatever you want to when you want too. Big plus is still being able too. :D

Here is video I made recently of my gauge going through a full bucket curl and back. If you look closely you can see that without a load the system pressure is about 50-100 psi and then spikes up to 2200 psi when the cylinders are fully retracted and extended.
