Are these able to be re-sharpened economically? I have 3 or 4 of them and the carbide teeth are still there, just dulled. Googled a little, didn't find any sharpening services.

I have a Milwaukee 14" cold cut saw. Also a Milwaukee 14" abrasive cut saw, but the cold cut is so much faster and more accurate cut. It just WALKED thru a 2"x2" solid steel bar! Not tubing, SOLID! It was astounding.

If no sharpening, I have been buying "Oshlun SBF-140080 14-Inch 80 Tooth TCG Saw Blade with 1-Inch Arbor for Mild Steel and Ferrous Metals" for about $70, is this a good deal?

Carbide is very hard and probably takes a diamond blade to sharpen it. I don't know if this would work, but a 4.5" diamond cut off wheel in an angle grinder might do it.

Carbide can be sharpened with an aluminum oxide or carborundum wheel. The trick is to not overheat the tooth because they are brazed on. Any competent saw sharpener should be able to sharpen them for a few dollars. Plan on trashing +- 100 blades before your proficient at it.

It would do it. But you need to grind each tooth the exact same amount. And keep the angles the same.

Ask at your local hardware store about sharpining saw blades. Many have a place they can send them out to, or a guy comes by once or twice a week.

They can be sharpened but need to be done by a qualified shop or your blade could be worse when you get it back. I think sharpening is usually about 1/3 the cost of a new blade, maybe more depending. A good shop can also braze missing teeth on.

It has been awhile since I have had one sharpened. The price probably has gone up. I will do my own but I will not sharpen for anybody else. I am not skilled enough for that. My Father was a master at getting things sharp. He could do reel mowers. He taught me some of it but I don't do enough to do it for $$$.

Wasnt considering sharpening 80 teeth but its a thought. I do have a 4 1/2" diamond blade.

Was hoping to find a place that I can send 3 or 4 blades and it "costs like 1/3 ! " but couldn't turn up anything on Google.

Check with your local machine shop. I'm sure they use carbide cutters and have a source to sharpen them.

Horrible Freight makes a blade sharpener for $49. It's supposed to handle up to 16".

But, ya pays your money and takes your chance!

Hardware store - building supply store is a good place to find someone to sharpen them for you. You will be money ahead to get them sharpened because you will make mistakes. Let the pro do it and you will never regret it.
