How is that $50 monitor in the sunlight? The one you see in my other post before this one is an Ag Cam 7 inch quad Monitor (meaning 4 cameras at once on the screen) for 500.00 with NO CAMERA I didn't like it and bought a better one. For about the same price. Direct sunlight readable and larger screen.
I have the Ag cam one in the previous picture like new in the box for 200.00 if anyone wants it. Check with Ag cam and see what they sell for. This one I have now has a much better picture.

So far I have not had any problems with it in the sunlight.

What monitor is it?

I think Roger spent $50 for the entire set up and his whole point of this thread was how inexpensive it could be done. I just bought an AgCam with two camera's and a 9" monitor for $699, plus another $100 on the Ram monitor mount. I also just ordered another Ram mount for one of the cameras to mount on the brush guard for about $60.

I can't see mounting one of these on an open station tractor, none of the monitors I have seen would work for long in the elements. I have only had mine a week but is anyone having problems with sun light washing out the screen?

Are you sure you bought AgCam 9" with two "AgCam" cameras for 699.00 because that setup goes for 1589.00?

I think 94BILLITT camera set up is the way to go for most people. For 50.00 and not have to permanently mount it, Is a plus.
One can see for very little money if they like and will use a monitor camera setup.
I think he did a very good job not even drilling a hole.
I'm embarrassed to say how much I have spent. My post is to show the contrast of what I had to spend verses what he spent for basically the same outcome.
I'm sure there is a trade off. But if you bought the 50.00 setup and wanted something better what did you loose, a trip to McDonalds for the family?

In the sunlight with all the glass in the cab the Agcam 7 inch was not that good. I even sent it back to Agcam, they sent me a brand new one with all the accessories . But the monitor was the same outcome. Washed out and lack of color compared to what I have now.
That is how I have a new one in the box with unused accessories. If someone wants it this it what it normally sells for.

The 9 inch monitor that you have is of better quality. I just could not fit it where I wanted it.
I think Agcam has hands down the best camera. I wanted a bullet proof camera for up front.

I ended up buying this one below which is all aluminum housing and rugged. The brightness 1,000nit my agcam was 400nit. I do not have or need a visor around the monitor. I have no doubt my monitor is a better quality then a 30.00 dollar one. And better then the AgCam line of monitors. But do you need that exspensive kind of monitor? I have no regrets at all, but many others I don't think would want to spend that much.

I suggest anyone wanting to get a camera setup is to go the route like BILLITTs setup first.

If you like it , you're all set. If you don't like it at all, then you didn't even drill a hole. If you like the idea and want to upgrade you can with little or no real financial loss.
So 94BILLITT set up is the way to go to try one out. Or keep for good.

For me I like the monitor I have now in spite the money spent. I hate the money the AgCam camera costs but I wanted the best camera for the bucket cam.
I did not use a AgCam camera for the rear.

I can see how your newer monitor could be better, it's an LED LCD vs the TFT that Dakota Micro is. Thanks for the link and if this one doesn't work out maybe I will go that way.

I agree that the AGCam camera is one of the best out there and when I saw this deal I figured if the monitor wasn't what I wanted I could upgrade it, it was priced below what two cameras go for by themselves.

Thanks for your input!

You got a good deal, like you said the cameras are worth that. The 9 inch monitor is supposed to be pretty good, I think you will be happy.

I've been looking at this thread, and looking for a 2 camera system. I saw this at my local tractor dealer today. He quoted me $500 for the 2 camera kit. It seems to be a neat, easy to install kit. It comes with a 32' and a 65' cable, which is way more cable than I would need for my use.

Thanks for the kind words on my installation.

I was using the tractor some this evening. The sun was very strong. I had the back of the tractor facing the sun and there was not any glare, I even opened the back glass to let more light in and there was still not any glare. I then turned the left side of the tractor to toward the sun there was not any glare so I opened the door and there was not any glare. I do still have the screen protector on the screen. I am not sure if things will change once I take it off.

The picture on my monitor is not super clear. It is definitely not Mercedes quality but I would say it is good enough for a tractor. I need to hook up something else to the monitor and see how the picture is. I'm thinking the camera may be why I picture is not super clear. I can get a pretty good camera for under $100. All I wanted was something that I could glance down at and make sure that nobody or nothing was behind me when I went to back up.

The monitor in that setup looks similar to mine.

I sure would like a set up like some here but they are too dangerous for me.

A flying limb that I am always catching when in the woods would whack the camera/display and it would hit me up beside the head. :)

Great thread and info. Ordered a camera & 7" display. Not too worried about the direct sunlight as it can be mounted in the cab above the windshield.
