Finally, got the pics off of my digital camera, so here are some pics of my Herd Sand Spreader.

First, the unit itself from the front.

Next, a closeup of the agitator in the hopper. It realky keeps the sand moving. Note the grid on the top of the hopper. If it can get through the grid, the spreader will throw it.

Here's a shot of the wings. They give good control over the spread of the coverage.

How part of the drive looks after two passes with the spreader. The Connecticut River is in the background.

beautiful country there...and nice set up for that hilly drive. Now if you can figure out how load it with your front end loader? Also, keeping the water out of the sand...would be important I would think. I am thinking about the pile of gravel I had for throwing on top of my icy drive...it got wet and froze solid.

I see a big problem with this set up....... you need a shovel to fill the hopper. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif BUT if you buy a small subcompact, say a BX, you could fill the hopper with a FEL and not need to use the shovel. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gifNow who else has two Kubota's one being a BX that can advise you with the process........ Bill/Henro???? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif can you help???

Just kidding, nice set up. Can the unit be used to spread fertilizer or other products?

Narcnh your sand spreader looks to be the best solution for that sloping drive. Nice looking unit and that is the first time that I have seen the directional wings on a spreader.

I'm not even going to ask how they manufacture sand. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Don't we have enough of the regular stuff already?
