I will be doing a 2 acre lawn renovation in August and started thinking about what I would do for when I need to go to the bathroom. What do all of you guys do for this? This place is out in the country, so running to a gas station, fast food place, etc to use the bathroom is not an option. I plan to just get one of those smaller popup privacy shelters like might be used to change in for a outdoor photo shoot or used in camping.

why not rent a port-a-potty, they can be had for cheap vs buying something... then you dont deal with anything other than a phone call. rental costs are not bad for a month or by week. weekend is almost as much as a month in some cases.

You might want to check with the landowner if it's not you, some won't mind a trip into the woods and some will prefer nothing left lying about.

About $75 for a months rental around here for the porta Jon. 5gallon bucket and a trash bag is ALOT cheaper.

lot depends on where you are, if in a EPA WATCH area or hire people who are Eco-Maniacs then having one poo into a bucket will have the law down on ya. Besides if you are having workers over it may not be fair to them to say HEY THERE IS A BUCKET.... ;) not to mention who is emptying it?

When I worked construction there never was any type of restroom near by. When I worked in the factory, if I stopped working to go "rest" my paycheck shrank because I was usually paid in piece-rate.

What I did was train my bowels to move in the morning while still at home. It cost me a little sleep but it was free, and warm in the winter.

For stand up work, find a tree or open a truck door.

Maybe one of these?

camping toilet bumper dumper portable toilet hunting toilet

Rather than a stinky bag to drag around, and if not an issue otherwise, I think I would just dig a small 12" deep pit below it and bury the waste. It disappears quickly as long as you don't bury it too deep.

If you rent a porta potty, stake it down so the wind won't tip it over.

This is not the most pleasant of subjects but it's life...there is a lot than can be said about "regularity"...
...personally I rarely if ever needed a restroom while working a regular 8 hr a day job other than having to take a wizz...however on one very hot day my business partner and I were grabbing a fast lunch and as hot and thirsty as we were went into a grocery store for a steam table lunch plate...being thirsty as heck we both grabbed the first ice cold bottle of liquid refreshment we could find...apple juice...boy was that a mistake...we both chugged down big portions of 1/2 gallon bottles while waiting on our dinners....once back at the job about 2/3 of the way through our meal it hit us both about the same time...it was a mad dash for the port-a lets....luckily there were several on the job site...needless to say it was a learning experience...!
