Unknown part on BX-25

Was doing some work in my garden with my BX-25 when I noticed a small metal object laying in the dirt, It is a small metal bracket with a hole on one side and solid on the other. I can't figure out if it is part of the Kubota or from something else. I've looked all over the tractor and can't see where it might fit. I took a quick look through the manual to see if something jumped out - nothing did. Anyone have an idea what it may be or know where on-line I might could look to see what it is to? Hate to drive all the way to a dealer to see if they can tell me.

I had a similar experience helping a few neighbors last month. Hauling loam from one neighbors house to another. Backing out of one of the driveways, a shiny wingnutted bolt, laying on the ground, caught my eye. At first, I considered it might be from one of his six kids riding toys, scooter, etc. Asked him about it. I stopped, looked all over the tractor and couldn't see anything missing. Put the bolt in my pocket, and finished up the last little bit I was working on for them. Got home and looked over the tractor again. After staring under the hood a few more minutes, I realised the bolt was missing from the air cleaner.

Glad I picked up the bolt.

Check your foldable ROPS. You may be missing the tightening knob also (I am).

I'm wondering if it may be one of brackets off one of the fuel filters. You have two filters on the BX, check both of them.

If it looks like this, this gentleman has diagnosed it correctly! I had found this part on the ground myself and folks on here told me what it was!

That reminds me to go check and make sure everything is tight on mine after lunch today....

Wow - what an awesome site and helpful folks...my problem is solved.........the bracket was indeed off the foldable ROPS.

I would have never figured that out on my own as the installed bracket is very had to see. The tightening knob had come off earlier (in another location - was lucky I saw it on the ground) and I'd screwed it back in - never thinking about a bracket being installed.

After these post suggesting it was off the ROPS, I relooked the tractor and low-and-behold there was a bracket on one side but not the other........it's fixed now. Removed the knob, slide the bracket into the ROPS, re-tightened the knobs (will be something I check regularity now) and all is well.

Bothers me these parts keep fall off - hope I keep finding them. Love this tractor - use it a lot so I guess I just need to be a little more careful and recheck parts that vibrate and be sure they are secure. Too that end - anyone else find other parts that have "fallen off" that need to be checked on a regular basis.

On my older BX, these parts are unnecessary when the ROPS is folded down (the case almost all the time). I leave the knobs and brackets back at the garage for safekeeping.

I just bought a BX1870 (sadly, with the older 90° ROPS, not the new -1 ROPS that folds all the way down. What purpose do the knobs serve? As best as I can tell, they seem to possible be an anti-rattle measure? The pins hold it solidly in place when up.
