Well im back again to the most helpful site I have ever visited and many thanks to you all for your help both now and in the past. I am planning on changing the hydraulic fluid and filter on our 6610 this weekend. I have tried searching the site but could not find an answer to my questons. I am wondering:
1.) Is there a separate filter for the transmission and hydraulics? i am only finding what appears to be one filter on the right side of the tractor under the step

2.) How do you check the fluid level? In the owners manual it refers to a dip stick. for the life of me i can not find a dip stick other than the engine oil on this tractor. Is there possibly another method for tractors that did not come with a dip stick? there is a square plug near the PTO and at the same height but it seems so low? could this be it?

3.) How much Hyd/Trans fluid will the fluid change take? i beleive the system capacity is 26 gallons but surely some remains in the system during a normal fluid change right?

Between the owners manual and the service manual i have i cant believe i could not find answers to these questions. any help would be much appreciated!! Thanks

It's just WAG but I would say you should have 2 plugs recessed in the floor of the operators station. There should be a dipstick on each one of those. I don't know about the filter.

Thanks for the reply. I will check on Saturday when I get back to the tractor. I was able to find a parts diagram that shows a dipstick attached to a bolt near the shift levers like you were saying. Also it looks like the 8 x 2 transmission only has one spin on filter for the hydraulic system.
