OK ... Here's a question for ya!

I went out to use my B7500 this week after it had been sitting outside for about a month without being used. It started right up but died a couple minutes later. I ended up having to drain about a pint of water out of the fuel tank to get it running again.
Soooo ... the question is how could that much water get into the fuel from just sitting????
This summer in the Northeast has been cold and wet, so I can see some condensation getting in there but with a 5 gallon tank that was more than 3/4 full it doesn't seem like it could be that much. The factory cap was on and tight so I don't see that being a possibility either. The tractor had been run several times the last re-fuel so it doesn't seem like there could have been water in the fuel.
Anybody got any good ideas???

I don't know what to tell you. My tractors are all under an open on 2 sides shed and I have never had any condensation in the fuel issues.

Same here, but all my tractors have always been under cover of some kind thru the years, and I have never had a water issue. Maybe you have a crack in the tank? I don't know that to suggest.

My tractor is always parked in a shed except when in use. Never had a water problem either. I had a water problem with a vehicle in Anchorage, AK, over one winter. Outside parked at work all day - heated garage all night. In the spring I drained a little less than a quart out of 14 gallon gas tank. Condensation. I've always kept all my vehicle fuel tank full since that time.

Condensation is one, surprising how much you can get. Water in the fuel as supplied is another. I am going to change the water block filter out of my supply tank for the second time this year, water that is either in the fuel from our supplier or is from condensation in the tank.

I was thinking the same thing, there's NO way that much water could get into the tank.
"IF" the cap was on "tight' as the OP said.

I always use fuel conditioner plus a "stabil" type additive year round. So far in many years I have not had a water problem.

Get some ,"new" fuel and poor it into a 2=liter pop bottle and see what you actually bought. Have you run over anyones Dog lately? Never got that much water on any equipment without someones help.

After all winter in the wet northwest I can get maybe 1/4 teaspoon of water. I say sabotage as well unless you bought some bad fuel recently. No way that is condensation.
