How many eggs can a snake eat daily?

Not sure about eggs - but the copperhead on my back porch ate a shovel blade last night

I was going to say shooting a non venous snake is an expensive means to an end. Shovels work well. Poisonous ones I understand.

Put golf balls where they hen lay the eggs. Works great.

The snakes on our farm could eat quite a few but always got greety and like your snake would get sluggish or stuck some where before they crushed the eggs and get shot,.. they will wrap themselves around a tree and crush the eggs for absorpstion.

. I'm no liberal tree hugging animal rights putz. But if you can't kill it man to man, feeding it a golf ball because it's stupid enough to eat it and crawl off and slowly die is kinda shiddy don't ya think?

I agree, killing any animal should be as swift and with as little pain as possible. Same as hunting. People should learn to shoot and select a shot, then go hunting rather than go hunting to learn to shoot. City folk are the worst for that.

I see several advantages using golf balls to kill chicken/egg snakes:

- Works 24/7/365; which means you don't have to be there to catch them in the act
- Targets only the "guilty" snakes; no innocents involved nor affected
- Zero hazard to any other animals (AFAIK)
- 100% effective
- the "bait" is reusable, assuming you find the dead snake.

The snake doesn't want to die a horrible (relatively) death? Easy, stay the heck out of the chicken house!

Simple.

We have large water snakes here in Maine but they don't bother anyone and just hang around ponds and shorelines . I friend measured a 7 ft. skin near his wharf , I have never seen one that big .

I put an egg in a minnow trap before. They can get in but not out. Then relocate. I have seen
a three footer living in the pole barn where I store my car and equipment and have very few mice issues in that barn.
He can stay as long as he wants.
