Anybody have problems with Kubota Corp?

My advice is to do one of two things. The first is talk to your dealer and tell them your situation (much better than telling us). Tell them you can't afford the repair and see what they can do to work with you. Maybe they can do the repair and allow you to make payments. The other would be to find someone or small shop who repairs tractors. Hopefully you can find someone who will charge a lower labor rate. You can also take the case to a welder to see if it can be repaired. My neighbor has a Yanmar that broke in half and was welded over 10 years ago and has been abused ever since and is still going strong.

As far as Kubota goes, I really doubt they will do much for you. As others have said, 10 years old is a long time out of warranty. I'm sure, if you still have it, the manual has a lists of do's and don'ts that cover them. Even the NH dealer you talked about was talking about them eating the entire cost, not NH corp.

A 3 point hoe imparts more of a twisting force than the straight line pull of a winch does, the main reason for a subframe and HD top link.

Note Bill Hoffman's comment about adding the top link reinforcement. Good precaution for a logging winch, too. While it's true the winch makes a straight line pull (or at least it should be used like that!), over extended use, it can accumulate a lot of heavy loading on the top link. I figured the added $150 in parts cost was worth it on mine, although you have to remove the fenders and seat, etc. to install.

10 years is way beyond any normal time any manufacturer would normally support something like this.

Far as I can tell from years of reading on this site. Most all the Manufacturers handle in warranty and out of warranty issues about the same.
Can't say I see much difference between any. And doubt that any would be much help with a 10 year old, long out of warranty machine.

Wow. This is a tough audience. To those who tried to be helpful, thank you. To those who took the opportunity to bash me, I hope it made your day. Feel free to continue to tell me how foolish I was because I bought what the dealer recommended. I won't be bothering the esteemed members of this site with my "whining" any more because I won't be posting any more issues.
Again, to those who tried to advise and not slam, thank you.

I know it looks like some members treated you a little rough, but if you visit TBN again, did you come across this reference to the B7800? Specifically the posting dated 05-07-2003, 03:44 PM as quoted below?

"According to my backhoe manual, the smaller "B" series must be fitted with these type of stiffening frame rails to prevent all the load from being carried through the cast diff / trans housings, thus preventing a catastrophic failure. The 3 point mount will allow you the most versatility, however they also have a little more "give" than a subframe"

Too many years back and too many Kubota's back to actually remember the dates (I've owned and traded at least 10 Kubota's, maybe more, I'm loved by Kubota Credit...lol, I had a one of the first 4 wd small Kubotas that were popular here, I think it was a B7100 HST. which is neither here no there and it came with a mid mount mower (don't get those anymore because, 1, it's easier to mow with a ZTR and they are a PITA to remove for other tasks) and my large frame Kubota Ag tractors don't option mid decks.

The little Kubby was a digger. was a made for Kubota by Woods hoe with a pto pump and tank on unit. It came with a HD top mount but no subframe and I was always breaking sway links on the lower lift arms from rotational stress imparted by the hoe. I subsiquently built my own lower subframe and the busted links ceased to be an issue. Never cracked the case but I know of someone who did. Verry messy as HST juice goes everywhere.

It sounds like if you get kubota you don't want to keep it very long or it will break and then you will a broken one. I can see why kubota credit loves you, you get rid of your kubota before it gets too old because they don't last and you paying so much interest in ten years it's not funny. If you are buying on credit you don't own it you are just paying rent on it. You are paying more for the same tractor then the person who pays cash, I can see that as smart in the long run.

A 10 year old tractor....

No Kubota doesnt owe you anything. If they offer anything at all its out of the goodness of their hearts.

You will be able to note on the forum a tendency by many to blame themselves when their tractor breaks. That is a mfg dream customer. They, the mfg, are being given carte blanc to balance skimping with suitability for task. ... They are even able to cull or reduce std accepted capabilities with barely a peep from clientele. In this way the dream consumer degrades a product line - esp when there is virtually no peer pressure to inhibit growth in their number.
