I have never liked this hitch set up because it eventually ruins the draw bar and it is just an inferior design.
I have thought about a ball mount trailer hitch style. I noticed Bush Hog uses a straight hitch, but ariculation is needed for ditch and creek crossing.
I am open for a solution or suggestion.

Looks like the pin diameter you have is too small. Can't you replace the pin with a larger diameter one. If the attachment takes a 1" dia. pin you can drill out the draw bar to 1" for a pin that will go straight up and down.

Correct pin for mower, but draw bar hole is larger. Since the tractor and mower are both JD, not sure why the holes are not matched.
I guess I could drill out the top and bottom of mower hitch, but the draw bar is already "ovaled out".
I have been using as is for 3 years, but it still looks wrong to me...

If it was mine I'd make an adapter plate out of square tubing that fits between the top and bottom of the implement connection (using the implement pin you have) and adapt the other end to pin or bolt to the draw bar with the proper sized pin or bolt.
If you don't use the draw bar for anything else weld a 2" hitch receiver to it them you could slide in different hitches to fit implements or trailers.

I would take a set collar and use it as a spacer on the bottom tongue of the clevis to level out between bottom clevis tongue and drawbar. Could weld to bottom tongue of mower too.

A hammer strap added to the drawbar would have kept the pin perpendicular for this application. If the drawbar gets to wallowed out you can weld it up and drill it again.

Only problem with a hammerstrap added to the equation is it creates a possible bind situation with 2 clevises bound together with a pin, but since there is slop this would get by in this situation.

i don't think it will bind, since your implement clevis is hinged for vertical motion.

Every old farm tractor in existence has a drawbar with a wallowed out hitch pin hole in it. It doesn't hurt anything. Just use it and be happy.

Is a hammer strap a piece of flat bar the width of draw bar with a hole in it for the pin that is of a thickness enough to fill the gap in mowers clevis? (A little wordy on description)
If so do you put another hole to through bolt to the draw bars forward hole?
