Hello guys, new here. I can't decide between a m7060 12 speed hyd shuttle and 5085e hyd shuttle. Primary job will be mowing 28 acres, utility work, both will have a loader etc. The JD is 3000 dollars cheaper. I'm a little worried about e series quality. Both machines are plenty for what I need. I can move the Kubota (tractor alone) with my trailer setup, can't move the john Deere. Not sure how much that matters. Plan to do food plots as well. Both have close dealers that act like, well, dealers.

Does 5085e have recirculating air?
Does m7060 have float scv?

What should I get????

These are 2 different class machines. The JD is 2600lbs heavier let alone all the additional HP. Can't answer the air question, but the Kubota can have rear remote valves that have the float function. The JD will by far out work the Kubota that you are looking at, but that is because of them not really being in the same class size.

Have you actually sat in the seat of each one of these tractors? I would think that doing that should help you make up your mind.

Both are good machines, just different is all.

Good luck. ;)

I am a john deere guy through and through. And even though I have kubota, i don't really like them. But the e series are John Deere's biggest mistake. they are made n india and have horrible quality. my friend has a 5065e. i would get the kubota.

Yes I have sat in them. Both have same rear tires, JD is 84 inches wide, Kubota is 74. Kubota 64 PTO HP, JD ,70 PTO HP. Same hyd flow rate...not really sure they are two different class machines besides one is all Japan, one is China/India, one is wider with 2000 more lbs. I plan on the 7060 with cast rear centers if I go that route, not really worried about weight so much as you can always add. Thanks for the feed back so far guys.

Also forgot to mention, kubnota is 6 gears, 2 ranges, while JD is 4x3. I'd rather have the 6 gears based on my limited experience, but it isn't a deal breaker.

I think the 5085e may be better than the 5055/5065e series???? I knows they have different layouts and engines.

I have a 5083E and I chose it over the ?8660? Kubota. The 2klbs difference isn't made up in the weight of the cab. If you have any heavy draft loads, your gonna need some weight. Hence I chose the JD because that weight is in the axles, frame and engine of the machine. I still added rim guard to the rear tires and wheel weights. For the loader, I still had to add almost 2klbs to the 3 point to keep the rear end on the ground. The JD does have recirc but I think only on the highest setting, I'll have to get out my book and check on that one. Make sure you check out the financing. JD would do 0% for 72, kubota wanted me to do a 3% buy in to do the 72 months.

If the weight isn't an issue or if you simply like the kubota or the dealer better, don't let that stop you. The main thing is to get enough horsepower for the work that you need to do.

My ground is really rough right now, ruts from being logged etc. I wonder if that makes a difference. I wonder if one is easier to get stuck than the other. Also I'd think the lighter one would be easier to get out?

I don't think the weight is going to matter much if you get it stuck in 4wd. High ground clearance would help. If you have some serious mud you can change tires out to wider higher flotation tires. If your roads are that rough, it really sounds like you might need to contract a dozer in to smooth them out a bit or spend some time fixing them up. If your churning mud in 4wd because its deep, your not going to get alot done regardless.

If the John deere is too heavy to move, that needs to factor in as well. Your going to have to plan on upgrading your equipment or roading it which kills ag tires.

There's nothing wrong with the 5e deeres. I'd go with the 5085, I own a 5083 and it's an incredible machine. It's hard to get stuck too, we redid the back bank of the pond with the 5083. It had no issues in the muddy bottom of the pond
