This is a warning on DiscountHydraulicHose.com.
I placed an order with them on 7/21/2014. It's now been over a month and I'm still waiting on back ordered items. I asked them last week for a status check through their online chat. I was told, the items "might" be in that week's incoming shipment. Evidently, not so. At this point, I could have ordered the same off brand fittings directly from China and have already gotten them. You have been warned. You may never get the parts you ordered. I have a non-time sensitive cart queued on their web site, however, I'm not willing to place any additional orders if they can't fulfill existing orders. It's comically ridiculous.

Backorder releases from the Pacific rim are impossible to predict when the parts are in a container waiting to clear customs, still on a boat, or waiting to leave the port of entry. Not defending DHH, I have no experience with them. But waiting on stuff from China or S.Korea is part of the joy of buying cheap knockoff stuff. You can always buy domestic.

Edit: Cheap, fast, or good. Pick any two.

Or Japan or any other country for that matter.

People that do business with country's that dump their cheap parts, and all other cheap junk on our shores are not thinking about the long run. Our grandkids will have a bleak future. I will pay three times more with the Made in U.S.A. label on it just to do my part to help save our country and our future generations. I will be able to look my grandkids in the eye and say, I did my best. The thing that gets me is, when you get your junk from China or any other country that dumps their junk here, it will not last and you will have to replace the same parts again. Where is the money savings there? Well thanks for warning me about something I already know.

Its no secret that DHH gets fittings from overseas.

As does about every place that is selling fittings and hoses online cheap. I dont have a bit of issue with it at all.

My issue is the local shops are also using china fittings and hose ends. Yet still charge a premium as if made in use. That ticks me off. And since fittings, (like nuts and bolts and other hardware) arent really marked, the end user really has no clue where the stuff is from.

I have done business with DHH. Didnt have any issues. That said, When you proceed with an order of parts that you KNOW is backordered, you are taking a gamble. And unless DHH guaranteed you a specific delivery date, I dont think you have a leg to stand on. What do you want them to do? Wave a magic want and make parts appear? IF they are backordered, they aint got them. And I am sure that as soon as they have them you will get your order.

I also find it odd that you come on here to post for the first time in 4 years, and wait till near midnight on friday night, and bash them over the weekend when no one is around to respond. I can see this thread going to h3ll before monday.

IF I was in business, you would be the type of customer I would NOT want. Business is business. There are always glitches. But how a business resolves them (customer service) is what makes and breaks a business. And customers that want to flock to the net and forums for a bash session ever time there is a little issue..........I would be happy to offer the name of my competitors. IMHO

I agree!

I deal with my local hydraulics shop. They know what they're doing, are friendly and helpful, and have everything I need on a moment's notice. Worth the price difference .. to me, at least.

When I have a hydro part that needs to be rebuilt or fabed, I go to a local shop, drop off my part in the AM and most of the time I can pick it up in the PM. I will pay more for GOOD parts. If they use chinese parts thats on them, but most of the time they use made in the USA parts. If they do use chinese parts or what ever and somethings goes wrong, They fix it as I wait. They put the come back first in line.

So I should only post when it's best for you. I didn't know there was a shelf life on posts or don't you read the whole thread? So nobody can tell the truth because it might upset someone? If I use your thinking, the OP should not have posted anything to start with. So I don't waste my time waiting for cheap parts from china and get my stuff from a local shop, is that what your whining about? If you don't like my posts, you can always put me on your ignore list.

Did you prepay for the parts? If not then see if you can buy what you need elsewhere. If you did prepay the order ask for your money back. Most businesses will gladly return your money to avoid issues with irate customers.

I am not in favor of internet bashing of any kind as it seems to be one sided and serves no one with fair and balanced resolutions.

I think you made a good point about maybe trying to get his money back, but you and others like to use the words "internet bashing" when all it really is a warning to avoid dealing with companies that can't cut it in the world of information. It's no different then a road sigh that say's curve ahead or stop ahead, you want to remove all the sighs so people can crash just so no one gets there feels hurt. Now come on. I think "internet bashing" is when someone says something about someone or a company that is not true or false.
