Fluid,

So far it hasn't been said that he paid for the parts, that needs to be answered first. Next, did he in fact ask for his money back if he did prepay? A little clarity would help resolve this I suspect.

Yes, I understand about the not knowing if the parts are paid for or prepaid part of the post. What internet site that sells parts doesn't want you credit card number first before they send you the parts?

My CAT dealer has been great when I needed a hose...

They ask if I'm on a job and when I am... they send me back to the shop and the line is made on the spot...

Can't say enough good things about CAT service.

It depends on the site, some don't charge your card until the back ordered item actually ships so as to avoid refunding your money if they cant get it in...

Let me make this clear.
1. Yes, they have charged me in full. I have paid for everything. You can't order anything without paying IN FULL.
2. After the order was placed, they stated that it would be 7-10 business days before it would ship. Their web site never states what's in-stock, so it's a complete guess if what you need is readily available.
3. This is not "internet bashing". That was avoided. Re-read my post.
4. The debate between "use USA parts" vs foreign has no bearing on this post. That's completely off topic. DHH sells generic fittings and I am only interested in generic fittings.
5. Imports like this don't come on slow ships. I import from china. If Fedex is used, it's overnight or two day.
6. DHH, at least in the past, bought many of their fittings from a distributor in Ohio. It's a high probability that the items which are "back ordered" are simply a one day shipment from Ohio to DHH.

And just to add a bit more. In total, over the past ~5 years, I have spent over $1,000 with them. I have my own hose crimper and I work on quite a bit of equipment.

I'm thinking if this is your only problem in 5yrs your ahead of the game. Cancel your order, buy it local and move on. If you had other problems with prior purchases I could understand some venting but you haven't mentioned anything about that.

If that's the solution, then DHH customers need to heed my warning.

bottleworks,
Did you ask for your money back? I would point out that they said 7 to 10 days and that you have waited for 30 days and can't wait any longer. About the warning or bashing you should recognize that businesses are not in a position to discuss the details of their customers transactions on a public forum without risk of liability. That makes your thread a little one sided, since it is hard for DHH to respond.

I should also point out that most wholesalers I deal with will ship to me and then bill out. To be fair I haven't had any dealings with DHH so no personal experience with them and no preference for them either.'

Monday morning I expect you can call them and get this cleared up.

At this point, I'm going to file a complaint with the credit card company. I do expect them to reply on here.

If you haven't had dealings with DHH and are talking about a completely unrelated situation, then why are you posting?

What further troubles me is that many on here are content that this is an acceptable business practice. Of course, those who speak to that, don't have dealings with DHH. I'm not looking for a couch coach.
