Shaft rpm is about 1350 i can get more if i want but it is more than enough at that.I am pretty happy with how it operates.Blue gum stump freshly cut 2m in dia with root flare 300mm above ground to 3-400mm below in 14 minutes. We had some beech stumps about 1.5meter which took 4 minutes for a similar height and depth still way quicker than my old grinder.I still have to put a cross releif block on the slew ram to slow it down and a better grader blade on the bottom. Not the best paint job but it needed to go to work.Looks good.
How well does it operate?
What is your shaft rpm?
When I designed it I had thought about making it telescope but wanted it short and compact so it could go on the trailer with the fecon mulcher head and still get around tight corners near some buildings.I have never really had the need to telescope the head and found it was easier to move the machine forward. The longer you make them the more pressure it puts on the pivot points.I have other stump grinders to get into tighter spots like raised garden beds etc.I did about 400 medium to small blue gum stumps in about 4.5-5hrs a few weeks ago.I do like the idea of a extension plate though but might have to give that some thought. If you could get an extension on the mounting plate, it might help get into tighter places. I like it.
Wonder how hard it would be to set up a telescoping head like CAT has?
