Found a heck of a deal on LED light bars.

I bought a 7" 36w bar to try and am wondering where to tap into the electrical system on my L3200. I was going to use the feed to the 12V plug on the dash.

I guess the question is whether the wiring to the plug as the same or better wattage rating as the 36w light bar. Maybe look at schematic or generally look at wattage ratings for 12v plugs?

I was wondering how many watts are really needed for tractor use. Seems like the first post was about a 72w light bar. Given the dramatic improvement in lighting some folks have posted using LED bars generally, I'm wondering if a 36W bar is plenty enough light on a tractor?

The other question that comes to mind is that one of these light bars might make for a nice work light. Now if you can plug the thing into the 12v plug without any issues.....hmmm, consider the possibilities. I've got a situation where it would be nice to run a work light off a 12v battery, but I need good light and need it to run for 3 or 4 hours at a time.

If you are talking about the typical 12V accesory plugs, they are limited to 120 Watts. But most of what I would plug in there is much lower, and that is considered to be the capacity of the connector itself: the wiring may be higher capacity.

Looked at this further a bit. Lowes has a portable LED worklight that runs off 110v or 12v for under $20.

I'd be curious whether 36w is ample enough light bar for a tractor.

I bought it to try, as if not it will be simple enough to spin it 180 degrees and use as a rear light.

I won't mention the name, but I was in a tractor box store today that had a 72 watt led light bar "on sale" for $129.99.

Not bad for a local buy in a store. The ebay seller mentioned in the original post of this thread still has 72W for $69.99. Mine from that seller are still going strong. I have only put about 25 hours on them since getting them, and they have been setting out in the weather most of the summer with no ill effects.

I have 2 34 watt 3100 lumens D2 wide angle. Duallys ridgid instustries made in USA. I can point one forward and one backwards and have more than enough light. 2 forward illuminates to a distance of over 300 feet a nearly 200 feet wide. And well over the tops of the trees at long range. These lights easily overpower the stock headlights I only use the headlights when driving down the road.

I'm sort of thinking the 36w bar would be enough for me. If not, I can always use it in place of the plow light. The ebay deal looks much better than the store deal.
