When at a restaurant and asked "how is your meal" my typical answer is "edible"

When someone asks "how am I doing today" my typical answer is "I'm alive"

Quite interesting the various responses I get:laughing: Many wait staff respond with something along the lines of "well I hoped it was better than that" or "is that good?" well "edible is better than inedible"

Also interesting in how many people don't respond at all (as if they really were not listening to what my response is)

Heard this one from my brother. "No one is so worthless that they can't be used as a bad example." RIP Dave.
I believe in life and liberty and the pursuit of those who don't. Bumper sticker. No political agenda implied.
Good stuff from all! Thanks, 445A

Two I posted in the original thread are:

"If you hear hooves...think horses, not zebras..." (originally uttered to medical students but applies to a lot of situations)

"There are 10 types of people in this world...those who understand binary and those who don't" (geek blurb)

on redundancy (like this thread):

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results" (Albert Einstein)

Them: How are you today?
Me: Compared to what?
Them: Yesterday
Me: one day closer to the grave.
Them (shocked): Don't talk like that !
Me: Tell me I'm wrong.

Joy is having the tools you need and needing the tools you have.
Sooo true texasjohn, but in my case I'd have to add "and being able to find them WHEN you need them."
To oldpilgrim: A simple greeting that turns into a conversation that makes the other party have to think! That will make them use common sense, if they have any to show. Thanks for posting your affiliate badges, as my NRA is due soon. What are the first 2? 445A

Uncle: "Why did you do that?"
Nephew: "Cause Charlie did it."
Uncle: "Well, if Charlie stuck his head in a bucket of crap would you?"

Army Security Agency unit patch and my rank at the time...Specialist 5, equivalent to today's Sgt. The rank (and the ASA) doesn't exist anymore. We had Specialist 4,5,6,7,8 ranks back in the 60's. Now they only have one, SPC (Specialist)which is/was Spec4 when I was in.
