What do you have for an internet security program?

We do plenty outside our jurisdiction.. .. Besides, this could be a joint effort to haul the hacker out into the street and beat him before sentencing and execution, I'd cut off all aid and funding to any country that didn't proactively help doing so to apprehend the terrorists.. Again.. My opinion only..

how to set wireless router security and to make it work with ya computer, cell phone etc.. first...
macfee, norton, has to much "bloat ware" AVG is getting to be that way to.
microsoft security essentials not a real big fan of it. but it is there.

i normally by 3 license or more license amount at a time if i ask family if they have gotten any updates... or what there plans are.

it is easier for me to install a single app, like AVG or other that has both antivirus and firewall. built into one. with auto updates.
chrome or firefox and hide internet explroer icon as best as i can. from end users. (family members on there computers)
and install ad blocker plugins.

then set there background picture to a picture i typed up in paint that states ""NO **** SITES, NO HACKING SITES"" and then let them figure out how to change it.

the family members that are better at actually using internet, have most likely gotten something and figured out how to use some other apps, that do a better job at looking at various specs of computer and what is on it. and no real issue with them. it is the teens. that are more of an issue.

C'mon SG...you can't believe that the fed gov. (current admin.) that spent almost one billion dollar$ of taxpayer money for a website (interface, CGI/backend) that easily could have been produced by a team of 4 or 5 programmers/developers and few coders in a few months for well below 7 figures (realistically) that would work from the onset (with proper beta release testing)...is going to try to find the best individuals to fight "fire with fire"...do you?...I didn't think so...our Affirmative Action leader is going to continue to resource other Affirmative Action candidates regardless of the field...

Also SG...I apologize for starting my original post in this thread with the line that you took offense with...it did not come across the way it does when I iterate it to people in person whenever I'm asked "What do you have for an internet security program?"

While we are wishing, lets get rid of the current admin too ;). Then crack down on hackers and malware factories...

IMO only...and I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers etc...but (again IMO)...AV software is nothing
but a tax for the unaware (for lack of a more tactful word) user...

I agree, Slash. I wonder how much the AV companies make a market for their stuff....

How much do you want to bet that most TBN users are online using an ADMIN acct? Using a "GUEST"
or "STANDARD" acct is the surest way to stop most malware. Also, don't violate firewalls, and KEEP
YOUR OS UPDATED. Microsoft has weekly big-anti-malware updates to supported OS's (Vista, 7, 8).

No anti-virus S/W here for many many years, and no viruses. When I get a new computer, I uninstall
the 6-mo "free" AV.
