The NX4510 does not use DEF, and is not turbocharged. It is naturally aspirated.

The website is incorrect...it lists all four models as being naturally aspirated, but they are all turbocharged. If you download the brochure, it lists them all as being the 3F183T model.

Well, you know how websites are.

Thanks for all the info. I am going to go check out the nx a little more, I did ask them a price on it and they told me $31,250 but I am not sure what options that includes, I didn't ask since that wasn't the tractor I originally wanted. Does that sound like a pretty good price?

That price sounds around $1,500 to $2,000 high to me considering MI&E was right at $31K for a 5010, and a bit over $29K (might have been $29,500) for a 4510. There are some regional differences, and shipping to MN might be a couple hundred more than Michigan, but I'd still look for $30K or less for a 4510 before adding any of the options.

Short version...$31,250 isn't a crazy price, but you can likely buy for less somewhere else. For the difference between your local dealer and MI&E, you could buy it here, have it shipped there, and still save something like $1K. There's actually a form member in the local area who transports tractors on the side if something like that becomes attractive.

I have 6 acres, my main uses will be snow removal, driveway maintenance, some landscape work I want to do, and 1 of my acres is field that I need to do something with because it's all weeds right now. Like I said in my first post I know this is bigger than what I would actually need right now but I want to be comfortable in the cab.

Uh ,like a lot bigger than you need. I have 25 acres with 35 HP and its just fine. I get what you mean with the cab, but 45 or 50 HP for 6 acres is a little overkill, and I would guess you are going to have some size and maneuverability issues. I find it hard to believe that somebody doesn't make a big cab for a small CUT. If you go that big, you will definitely be able to do anything you want, but you will find that there are times when you wish you had a smaller and lighter tractor that can get into tight spaces and won't beat up the lawn. I know I find there are times when I can't bring the tractor on the lawn or it will rut it up pretty good. But do what you want, just keep in mind that you may not be able to go everywhere with the tractor. Obviously you can't finish mow with it, but you know that.

Then again, maybe I'm just jealous;)

TJP89 summed things up pretty good.

*chuckles* you have killed the overkill department a couple times over! *ughs*
turbo *shakes head no*
20hp to 30hp tractor more than plenty. that puts in around mid range SCUTs, to lower end CUTs. as far as pricing.

i would say you would be better off with a smaller tractor, with all the addon options. vs a bigger tractor. to much emphasis on only a couple hours at a time if that in tractor. vs being comfortable all day long in tractor.
the little addon's such as TNT, cab itself, extra lights, larger alternator, quick attach or like options out there, snow blower vs FEL (front end loader) and 3pt hitch rear blade, chains for rear tires, possibly a 3pt backhoe with sub frame, thumb for backhoe, and/or 4in1 or grapel for FEL. 3pt hitch finishing mower vs belly mower, other words focus on what would make tasks easier and quicker and get things done professional looking with some experience using. vs all focus on the cab, so your not in there entire weekend, but rather only in there a couple hours if that at a time.

bigger is not always better. its all in how use it.

Geez I am starting to regret even asking about this on here.
People I talked to said to get something with 30 pto hp for what I wanted, it takes around a 40hp hst tractor to get around 30 pto hp so that is why I started looking at the dk40 and the salesman told me about the nx45. I did look at the ck35 but I didn't like the hst pedal with the brake pedal right above it. So what tractor with a cab would you recommend to run a brush mower, decent size rear snowblower, and something to work the acre field I have so I can plant something in there?

LOL, yes we will give you regrets before, during and after your tractor choice. :D

Maybe another way to approach it is to think about implement size/width. A 40 hp engine with 32-35 hp at the pto will generally run 6' wide brush cutters and snow blowers. Drop down to a 30-35 hp engine and you would usually run 5' wide pto implements. 25-30 hp engine would be 4' wide. These are general guidelines only. 5 pto hp per foot of width. Any of those tractor sizes would pull a disk harrow to do an acre, or run a rototiller, just different widths.

There are variables of course. If you mow your brushy areas more often, just like mowing grass, it doesn't take as much power. If you let it go for two years and mow it in late July when it's really thick & juicy, it takes more power--or less travel speed.

With six acres production speed isn't your worry. Smaller implements cost less than large, you can own more of them for the same cost and do a larger variety of tasks. On the other hand, I like to say that snow storms and drifts, trees, rocks, etc. don't care or know what your lot size is. Dirt weighs the same too on large or small lots.

Three passes with a 4' snow blower is equal to two passes with a 6'. Unless you have a very long driveway that probably isn't significant. With a cab tractor keeping you comfy it's even less.

What width of implements do you envision being most useful at your place?
