Nice tractor, you will be happy with it. On the backhoe, My Kioti manual says never to use a 3PT backhoe, and I've heard similar things here for all tractors. I think a backhoe creates so much force that a subframe is necessary. You might save now, but 3 years from now, when to twist the rear axle, 3pt mountings, and/or tractor frame, you'll be wishing you paid for a proper backhoe. My thinking is, if you need a tool, pay for the best, cause you'll be happy you did later. If you can't afford the best, you can't afford the tool. Of course that's not universal, but it works most of the time, especially on a long term investment.

I know there are many folks out there who will say they have been using their backhoe with a 3 point mount with no problems but I have seen many broken machines from doing just that. Only one was clearly broken in half but the cracks and twists in the others made it clear to me that unless it was for a flower garden I would never use a 3 point backhoe on any tractor.
Other statements have been made like "I just take it easy with it and have no problems" Like said before- Its a tool its made to do a job and you got a 50HP machine to do the work with authority! DO you really want to, or are you going to be able to take it easy when your into a hole and have to pry that big rock you just uncovered out. Its easy to say I'll just take it easy but dirt work holds suprises and the longer and more comfortable you get with the machine the harder taking it easy will be.
My manual also states not to use a 3 point backhoe and the McCormic is basically the same tractor. Once you see how much force can be thrown into the tractor when using it you will be glad you got the sub-frame and piece of mind!

I had a backhoe hanging on the 3pt on my previous tractor. The hoe mfg supplied a very heavy solid replacement top link, which lasted about 3 years until it broke.

Did you ever sit in a seat on a 3pt mounted bh when the top link lets go right at the edge of a freshly dug leaching field hole? One minute I'm digging away and the next, I'm heading face first into a freshly dug hole. Why I didn't get hurt, I don't know.

I repaired that problem and all is well for a couple of years when one of the lift arms snaps leaving one side of the hoe sitting on the ground. I was able to lift the hoe and chain it up off the ground so I could get it home for repairs. Of course it was at my nephews house in the middle of a job he needed done.

When I got it home, I decided that I was tired of the 3pt system so I crafted a self contained framework that bolted to the tractor, making it rigid and solid. No more problems.

When the bh is mounted on a 3pt, it likes to move around, left, right up and down as you can't really get it rigid on the tractor. When it's rigid, it's much more controllable and much more pleasant to use.

Think twice about a 3pt mounted bh.

My neighbor has a 45 horse NH that he wails on routinely and it never fails him. I bought a Kubota L3200 due to ease of financing but I have to admit I like the kioti best for what its worth. They just feel right and even though I let the one side entering of the Kubota go at the point of purchase I have regretted it. best of luck to you.

Wow, if that isn't a testimony for frame mount, I don't know what would be. A backhoe frame actually cradles the tractor to a large extent, not everyone understands that. Tossing around a tractor from the 3pt connection is very hard on it.

you guys will be glad to know I went with the woods frame mounted backhoe. I opted out of the thumb but I got a 12 in and 24 in bucket. The thumbs can be added on at a later time according to the dealer. Can wait to get this tractor and see the performance. My new Holland dealer really bad mouthed mccormick. But he could get close to the price and financing option.

That seems to be what dealers do when you tell them you've found a better deal on a different brand that they can't match. The big 3 are learning in this age of instant info that they can't charge the sky on merely a name, as people will look for better options easily.

Re: Kioti or Mahindra, new hollandft

I have had the McCormick tractor for going on 3 weeks. I really like this machine. For the most part it does what I need. I have gotten stuck a few times in the swampy area but I have a lot of old fence, metal, nails, and other things that probably make me very lucky to have industrial tires. So far tire haven't been punctured. One question for you guys who have the kioti similar tractor. I got stuck once in a hole and only 3 of my four tires was spinning. I was in 4 wheel drive. The front right was just sitting still. Is this normal? I noticed pushing debris that I didn't have the problem. Only when it was stuck in the hole. Other than that question. I'm glad so far that I went with this tractor. I'll keep you guys updated. Thanks for the help

Never having gotten my CK stuck, I don't know for sure, but that wheel probably had traction but not enough power so it just sat while the other one spun, happens all the time on my lawn tractor. That's normal, as there is no front differential lock on these smaller tractors.

Thats normal. No dif lock on front just on rear.
