I bought the machine used, and I mean lightly used, last winter. I believe it spent most of it's 4-5 years under it's previous ownership just sitting in a barn or garage. It only had 24 hours on the meter. It was zero weather when I brought it home around New Years, so no chance to give it good cleanup, which I doubt the previous owner ever did.
The summer was just too busy to worry about it but every time I used it, I could see the dirt, grime and dullness to everything. I would hose it off now and then, but that was about it. Today, I just had an itch to enjoy the beautiful day and give it a complete cleanup. I rubbed an armor-all type product on all the plastic too, which brought it back nicely.
The wax? I just grabbed what was in my shop. Maquire's in the red bottle. I've always liked it. Just a "once over lightly". Nothing too strenuous.
