I've got a New Holland TC40 with a 72" bucket with the non-replaceable cutting edge. There is a New Holland bolt on tooth bar for this bucket but it's $486, and the price is consistent everywhere I look from Messick's to my dealer.

Is there some aftermarket tooth bar that will work on this bucket? Somehow I thought a tooth bar would be about 1/2 the cost of the the New Holland part but I don't really have anything to base that on.

Thanks, guys!

Even making one cost me about half what a Piranha costs. I used bar steel, and German forged harvester teeth I found at a farm auction. Then the plow bolts, etc. Well, maybe not half, but if my labor had value... You'll find lots of posts on toothbars, and lots of potential sources. Measure twice, order once. If you have a smallish tractor, they will definitely help with digging and tearing up ground.

I got a 60" Piranha Tooth bar from BXpanded. I've done some crazy stuff with it and haven't hurt it yet. Give Harry a call and see what he says.

I bought a WR Long 5 footer from Everything Attachments this spring for $403 including shipping. So if the quality is as good as WR Long's and the tooth spacing is 10 inches or less on the one quoted you it doesn't seem out of line for a 6 footer. They are expensive but make a huge difference in what you can do with the bucket.
