Grease?

newbury... you beat me to it. Highly recommend as will many others here. Believe it or not, it makes zerk greasing fun!

I call BS on that. I'm glad I got one though. It definitely makes greasing suck a lot less.

What kind of pneumatic dispenser did you go with? Let us know how it works.

I don't like doing it the old fashioned way but am too cheap to go buy a Dewalt cordless grease gun.

Its a Campbell-Hausefeld single dose dispenser. It takes a cartridge or bulk. The old gun was a leveractionmy father owned and was a bear at times. Since I have air I decided it was time.

I have been getting the mobil one synthetic grease lately. Seems like a good all around grease for everything. It's pricey but the little that I go through in a year makes little difference. If I owned a construction company and were going through tubes a day I would look more into purpose-made grease for different applications. Or if I had a boat trailer I would buy specific marine grease, though the mobile 1 may be rated for that as well. My next choice would be mobil xhp222.

Just be careful for compatibility issues, as some greases aren't compatible with others. I think this especially applies to moly greases.

On a side note, we have a few lincoln pneumatic guns at work collecting dust because they have for the most part gone to bulk grease with pneumatic pumps on barrels. They still have a few specialty greases in tubes, but we just use manual guns for that. One of these days those guns will probably be tossed and end up taking a ride to my garage.
