He said in his second post he bought the gears at his local injection shop.
Maybe he can give us some more info on that.

In his second photo you can see (near left edge) the broken teeth on the old gear. Also (in both photos) you can see how it is possible to rotate the gear 180 degrees and the rectangular flange on the plunger will go right back into the gear (hence the basis of the 180 degree fix). AFAIK, there are no reports of broken teeth on the rack, only on the gears. Given the OP was able to buy new gears, he was smart to just replace them in case the original gears came from the same bad batch (just a theory). Since Kioti has stonewalled this issue, I, like you, am interested in a local repair option at a small fraction of the $1-2K Kioti fix (i.e. factory new IP). My 2006 DK came from the era of IP failures so this interests me.

Where did you purchase the gears. Do you have a partnumber for these gears? Fixed mine by rotating the gears but would like to have some in case it happens again.

Some additional info on this IP issue.

2006 CK25 HST purchased new 7/2006.
1st IP failure 7/2008. ~700hrs. Local Kioti dealer repaired. Kioti covered replacement. Not sure what the specific IP failure was. Tractor shut down while mowing.

2nd IP failure 10/2/14 1430hrs. Currently in shop for repair. Suspect broken gear(s) in IP. Shows same symptoms as many other failures. Stopped tractor and would not start. Fuel filter replaced 8/2014. Checked all fuel lines - Clean. Lift pump and Stop Solenoid check good.

Will report findings when known. Almost certain it's a broken gear.

Just so everyone knows. These gears are available from Conestoga Diesel under part number 9 411 617 148. Current price $25.75 each plus shipping. I ended up paying a total of $92.25 for 3 to be shipped to Texas. They also repair the pump. A standard rebuild with new gears is often right around $300.

P.S. Although available from different sources in Europe and Japan (and maybe here in US) Conestoga Diesel have been great to work with and it's hard to beat their delivery time.

Excellent information. Many thanks. I added a link to your post in my spreadsheet, which has a link in the "sticky" pose at the top of this Kioti O-O forum.

By the way, do you know which Kioti models use this specific part number? It's possible that all 3 and 4 cylinder Tier 3 IPs use the same gear, or maybe not. As I recall, Conestoga needed to examine ERE's CK25 IP to determine the correct gear. I don't think Diesel shops here have any tech data (parts cross reference) for the Doowan part number.

By the way, as mentioned earlier I did send a letter to Kiotis (Daedong-USA) president Chang Gue (C.G.) Kim. As expected I got a sort of generic answer back from their service administrator Melissa Waters. See enclosed.
I'm not going to comment on their statements, I think we all read them the same way but I hate to think if Sears for ex. would have the same policy. As we know they put Kohler or Briggs engines in their lawn-tractor so if the engine would not run could you see them telling us we had to buy a new $1200 engine even if it was just an ignition coil that was bad because "that's how it is sold to us from our manufacturers".
And about her statement that this letter would restore some confidence in Kioti? I'm sorry but I view this as one of the worst purchases I ever made and this letter, to me, reinforce that.

A follow up on my CK25 HST injection pump failure. With some guidance from ritcheyvs and a local injection pump repair shop I decided to remove the pump myself. It was easier than I thought. The shop I took the pump too was familiar with the brand and had gears in stock. Two days later I picked the pump up and they verified one gear had two broken teeth. They replaced them with stronger gears. Cost of the complete repair with labor and tax was $116 . While I was at the shop I asked if they do mail order repairs and they are happy to repair and ship anywhere. A plug for the shop.

The gears that were in the IP before rebuild cannot be turned 180 and reused because of an area on the back side of the gear that does not have machined teeth. The area is approximately the width of 2-3 teeth, at the same height as the surrounding teeth. I've included a picture of the back side of one gear. All three gears were like this.

Everything went back together smoothly and the tractor is up and running again.
