Maybe he can give us some more info on that.
In his second photo you can see (near left edge) the broken teeth on the old gear. Also (in both photos) you can see how it is possible to rotate the gear 180 degrees and the rectangular flange on the plunger will go right back into the gear (hence the basis of the 180 degree fix). AFAIK, there are no reports of broken teeth on the rack, only on the gears. Given the OP was able to buy new gears, he was smart to just replace them in case the original gears came from the same bad batch (just a theory). Since Kioti has stonewalled this issue, I, like you, am interested in a local repair option at a small fraction of the $1-2K Kioti fix (i.e. factory new IP). My 2006 DK came from the era of IP failures so this interests me.
