What is this "58" 841 worth?

I looked at an 841 today and I need advice on what it is worth. The 3 point lift works fine, even cold. PTO works fine, it is very greasy and dirty but nothing that cannot be cleaned up. It is priced at $2700 with a Ford loader. The loader has a dedicated pump, hyd controls, and hyd reservoir. It is a 4 speed with a shuttle shift. There is some issue with the transmission shift that the owner says is is a $135 fix. It appears that the shift handle is all worn out and it is hard to find the correct gear. I would prefer to buy it without the loader but not sure I can. The loader is off but the owner says he will be putting it back on.
Any and all thoughts............

id say the tractor is pretty well priced right.but since you say it needs a known repair.id prolly offer $2400 and you do the repair.or $2700 with him doing the repair.

Decent tires, power steering, at least 1 maybe 2 new rims, tin is good.
Probably has a Sherman reversing transmission judging by the linkage.
It would sell fairly quickly here at that price.

loader = resale value, even if you don't need it or put it on, when you go to sell having the loader will get a lot more looks that without.

um.. behind the coil and dipstick. uh.. the engine block?

or if you mean aft of it.. . um.. the hyd pump ?

what part is hard to shift, the sherman or the 4spd?

is the 4spd shifter wobbly and loose and that's why it's hard to shift.. but if you put it in t he right place it does shift fine? if so, easiest fix is to find a surplus tranny cover and shifter. I have seen them from 65-100$ on ebay, though don't currently know of one. if he knows of one, get the info.


If everything works. ps, etc. and you can get the part or make it work.. then it's likely priced right. you always offer less and see where it goes.

the pto seal, if it leaks.. can be fixed for under 20$ for the seal and gasket. the loader looks good.
